Pay Rate: $10.00

Key Components:

The Baylor University Department of Theatre Arts team is seeking a dynamic and organized student worker to lead and coordinate both front-of-house and back-of-house activities at the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center. This role is ideal for an undergraduate student with leadership potential and a passion for live performance environments.

  • In a student employee capacity, may perform or assist with specialized business or operational functions that contribute to departmental goals and initiatives
  • On-the-job training will be provided.  This position requires various sitting, standing, bending, and lifting based on assigned programs and projects.
  • Professional, all-black attire is required when working productions; otherwise generally appropriate workplace attire should be worn.  Closed-toe shoes are required for all stage setup activities.
  • Perform duties for assigned area of responsibility  
  • Front of house-ushering, tours, marketing, social media  
  • Provide excellent customer service    
  • Theatre space upkeep, occasional lifting (5-15 lbs.), posting announcements
  • Assist with various projects, activities and tasks related to business operations  
  • Ability to prioritize and take initiative  
  • Ability to comply with Baylor University policies and maintain regular and punctual attendance   

 

Job Description:

  • Provide mid to advanced level administrative and operational support for day-to-day tasks
  • May serve as initial contact for in-person guests or callers; provide excellent customer service
  • May generate, prepare and analyze reports or perform forecasting
  • May create creative content or maintain department website(s)
  • May assist with special projects and initiatives supporting departmental goals
  • May assist with planning or coordination of events
  • May assist with identifying areas of improvement and recommend solutions
  • May assist with compliance processes
  • May assist with maintaining internal databases and records
  • May assist with developing processes and procedures
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission  
  • Ability to comply with University policies  
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
