Key Components:
The Baylor University Department of Theatre Arts team is seeking a dynamic and organized student worker to lead and coordinate both front-of-house and back-of-house activities at the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center. This role is ideal for an undergraduate student with leadership potential and a passion for live performance environments.
- In a student employee capacity, may perform or assist with specialized business or operational functions that contribute to departmental goals and initiatives
- On-the-job training will be provided. This position requires various sitting, standing, bending, and lifting based on assigned programs and projects.
- Professional, all-black attire is required when working productions; otherwise generally appropriate workplace attire should be worn. Closed-toe shoes are required for all stage setup activities.
- Perform duties for assigned area of responsibility
- Front of house-ushering, tours, marketing, social media
- Provide excellent customer service
- Theatre space upkeep, occasional lifting (5-15 lbs.), posting announcements
- Assist with various projects, activities and tasks related to business operations
- Ability to prioritize and take initiative
- Ability to comply with Baylor University policies and maintain regular and punctual attendance
Job Description:
- Provide mid to advanced level administrative and operational support for day-to-day tasks
- May serve as initial contact for in-person guests or callers; provide excellent customer service
- May generate, prepare and analyze reports or perform forecasting
- May create creative content or maintain department website(s)
- May assist with special projects and initiatives supporting departmental goals
- May assist with planning or coordination of events
- May assist with identifying areas of improvement and recommend solutions
- May assist with compliance processes
- May assist with maintaining internal databases and records
- May assist with developing processes and procedures
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
- Ability to comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
