DescriptionJob Summary:The Senior Specialist will lead and guide employees to accomplish the goals and objectives of Operations Equipment department while adhering to the larger organizational objectives and vision. This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Operations Equipment and will assume equipment control responsibilities, in the absence of the Manager.
- Lead, guide and direct department employees to include setting targets, monitoring performance, providing coaching, counseling and development
- Responsible for hiring, training and terminations within department; assuring they are processed according to proper guidelines with appropriate levels of follow up on timely task completion
- Assist in building a long-term purchasing strategy to ensure present and future system capacity requirements are met across all Estes business enterprises
- Lead projects that support various equipment improvements which include telematics, grant programs, fuel efficiency, alternative fuels and beyond
- Analyze equipment status and project needs through research and preparation of daily reports
- Identify inventory challenges, determine root causes and provide solutions in support of the organizational goals
- Establish and maintain relationships with Operations colleagues nationwide with ability to listen, understand and promptly offer recommendations and solutions, for equipment-related concerns or requests
- Share acquired skills and learnings, through formal and informal channels, in efforts to improve the foundational knowledge across team
- Serve as resource for procedural processes for Operations Equipment and Central Dispatch teams and follow-up to ensure individuals adhere accordingly
- Supervise the distribution of new and used power units and trailering inventory and advancements in technology, in collaboration with the Manager and key stakeholders.
- Assist with budgets, analysis, cost control and recognize opportunities for improvement with solution-based recommendations
- Regular attendance is required.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A) with emphasis in Operations Management, Transportation, Logistics, or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
- 5 years leadership experience required
- Knowledge of Dept. of Transportation and safety regulations required
- Must be self- directed with strong analytical, problem solving, cost analysis and resolution skills required
- Strong verbal, written, listening and presentation communication skills required
- Ability to network at all levels across Estes interacting with key stakeholders
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office suite to include Excel and CoPilot with the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts / formulas and analyze data in order to make operational recommendations
- Experience with “SEQUEL ViewPoint” preferred
- Possess strong project management skills and be detailed oriented to lead multiple critical projects
- Experience with electronic on-board recorders with the ability to analyze and interpret the data
- Must possess a strong work ethic with flexibility in work schedule, available for all shifts, weekends and holidays with the ability to work in any weather condition
- Must be willing to travel based on business needs
- Must be able to lift approximately 20 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job

- Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting
- Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities
- Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
