About the Role

Total Wine & More is seeking a Sr. Associate Buyer, Food & Other Beverage to join our Merchandising team in Bethesda, MD. You will drive sales and achieve margin targets while working with the stores, marketing/promotion and supply chain departments. You will manage supplier relationships and perform food and other beverage merchandising and promotional activity. Your work will involve cross-department collaboration. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to delve deep into the world of Food & Beverage. You will report to the Manager, Food & Other Beverage.

You will

• Drive sales growth and margin performance for select Food & Other Beverage categories and seasonal assortments, by optimizing assortment, pricing, and promotion through data-driven analysis and proactive category management.
• Lead relationships with Food and Beverage vendors for select categories, ensuring timely store replenishment, accurate pricing management, and strong promotional strategies.
• Own category review cycles for select Food & Other Beverage categories, by preparing reports, summaries, and recommendations that guide assortment, pricing, and promotional decisions.
• Develop and execute in-store and digital merchandising initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align on project goals, timelines, and deliverables, while mentoring junior team members as needed.
• Take ownership of key merchandising projects, providing strategic input and ensuring timely execution.
• Collaborate with store teams to independently troubleshoot and resolve supplier challenges, ensuring continuity of supply, cost accuracy, and compliance with quality standards.
• Occasional travel required
• Must be able to prioritize many assignments simultaneously, and work under tight deadlines
• Occasional work in retail stores for holiday support
   

You will come with

• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• 1-4 years experience in a Buying Department in Corporate for consumer goods business
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for sales, margin growth, and customer experience.
• Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel (can perform complex functions)
• Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to execute in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
• Experience in retail supply chain management or purchasing is a plus
