Description

The Bronx & Westchester Training, Compliance & Process Improvement team is seeking a highly motivated Operations Trainer to support Electric Operations through the delivery of critical training, compliance assurance, and continuous process improvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in facilitating technical and safetydriven field training, conducting onsite observations and audits, and reinforcing safe, compliant work practices. This role requires a strong commitment to operational excellence, customer focus, and personal accountability, along with demonstrated alignment to the Companys Code of Conduct and The Way We Work.



Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and deliver critical operational and safety training to ensure regulatory, corporate, and operating area compliance across Bronx & Westchester Electric Operations.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and manage classroom and non-classroom training while aligning with shift coverage and operational priorities.
  • Conduct on site Documented on the Job Training (DOJT) observations and technical assessments in accordance with Corporate Instructions and safety standards.
  • Perform on site training compliance audits to validate training effectiveness.
  • Track, monitor, and report compliance for mandatory certifications and training (e.g., EH&S, CPR/First Aid, Confined Space, Bucket Rescue, CDL, FDNY, DOJTs).
  • Support technical skill development and career path progression by ensuring employees meet required training milestones.
  • Forecast training needs and collaborate with The Learning Center, instructors, and field leadership to ensure timely availability and delivery of training.
  • Maintain and enhance training records, tracking systems, and compliance reporting to support audits and operational reviews.
  • Partner with field leadership and customers to identify gaps, address emerging training needs, and continuously improve training programs.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to operational excellence, attention to detail, and the importance of personal accountability.
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.


Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of field work experience. or
  • Associate's Degree and 4 years of field work experience. or
  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of field work experience.
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of field work experience.
Relevant Work Experience
  • Must demonstrate a high energy level and promote a positive work ethic and customer service mentality in support of our corporate values and mission, required.
  • Must demonstrate strong leadership skills, be well organized, detail oriented, flexible to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines, required.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, required.
  • Must have strong oral and written communications skills, good presentation skills ability to effectively interact with internal customers, support staff, and various level of management and union, required.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to facilitate and deliver technical fieldbased training, including tailboards, nonclassroom instruction, and handson demonstrations, while adhering to Corporate Instructions, safety rules, and Operations work practices, required.
  • Must have proven experience leading onsite training sessions in an active operating environment, with the ability to assess employee performance in real time, provide corrective coaching, and reinforce safe, compliant work behaviors, required.
  • Knowledge of Electric Operations, preferred.
  • Must have field and or technical knowledge or experience, required.
  • Supervisory and safety related work experience, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of using a Learning Management System and running reports, preferred.

Additional Physical Demands
  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able and willing to travel within company service territory, as needed.
