Job Title: Shipping & Logistics Coordinator | $22 - $23/hour | Milton ON | On site
Position Overview
The Shipping & Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in managing outbound shipments while ensuring accurate documentation, timely carrier coordination, and effective communication with internal and external partners. This role is primarily computer-based and focuses on coordinating shipments, communicating with carriers, resolving logistics issues, and supporting internal teams to ensure smooth operations. The position requires strong attention to detail, computer proficiency, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal departments and external partners. While the role is primarily focused on shipping coordination, occasional support within warehouse operations may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and process parcel and freight shipments using shipping software and carrier portals.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Communicate with carriers, vendors, and internal teams to schedule shipments and resolve delivery issues.
- Track shipments and proactively address delays or discrepancies.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding shipment status, documentation, and logistics coordination.
- Maintain accurate records within shipping systems and internal tracking tools.
- Verify shipment details, quantities, and documentation prior to dispatch.
- Assist with continuous improvement of shipping processes and workflows.
- Support general logistics and operational activities as required.
- Perform other operational or warehouse support duties as required.
Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in shipping coordination, logistics support, customer service, or administrative roles preferred.
- Experience with shipping systems, ERP/WMS platforms, or carrier portals is considered an asset.
- Forklift experience or certification is considered an asset.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook), and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Ability to accurately prepare and review shipping documentation.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills when working with internal teams, carriers, and vendors.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull, or move items up to 50 lbs when supporting operational needs.
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods while managing shipment coordination tasks.
- Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, and assist with operational activities as required.
- Comfortable working in an operational warehouse environment when supporting logistics activities.
