The Role:

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the Casino Cage Operations.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise Cage Department during assigned shift. Staff, schedule, evaluate, train, develop and monitor team. Recommend wage increases, promotions, demotions, coach and other employment actions for Team Members.
  2. Maintains accountability of all gaming chips, tickets, currency, coins patron checks, credit information, forms and records relating to the department.
  3. Performs cashiering and other clerical duties to relieve subordinates during peak work periods.
  4. Searches records to assist subordinates in locating and reconciling posting errors on customers' accounts and investigates cash variations.
  5. Withdraws monies from bank and keeps custody of operating funds, or retains next day's operating funds from daily receipts.
  6. Allocates operating funds to cashiering stations.
  7. Totals and summarizes funds received, endorses checks, and prepares bank deposit slip.
  8. Supervises work procedures, oversees work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  9. Issues written and oral instructions, assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  10. Supervises and reviews procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
  11. Must train and become proficient with ATM, Ticket Redemption and other automated cash unit operations and accountability.
    1. Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
    2. Addresses errors and complaints.
    3. Follows the Company Thoughtful Service model at all times
    4. Knowledgeable of the Nevada Gaming regulations as well as the Company’s internal controls, policies and procedures.
    5. Must be available for regularly scheduled work and flexible schedules when needed for department coverage, trainings and meetings.
    6. Performs other duties as assigned

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  

Directly supervises the Cage Department Team Members in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

Education and/or Experience:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain  registration with the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

 

Language Skills:

Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

 

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Must have a knowledge of general accounting principles, and be able to apply these principles in practical situations.

 

Computer Skills:

Must have a demonstrated ability in Microsoft Office products and all other systems associated with position.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Must be able to perform multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy.
