AIR Communities is seeking a strategic, high-impact Senior Vice President of Operations to lead our growing Mid-Atlantic region, including Atlanta, Nashville, North Carolina, South Carolina, and future market expansion. This executive will drive regional performance, strengthen leadership capability, and ensure our communities deliver an elevated resident experience while achieving strong financial and operational results.
This is a visible enterprise leadership role for a proven operator who can translate strategy into execution, align teams across multiple markets, and lead through growth and change with accountability, sound judgment, and credibility.
What You’ll Own
- Lead operations for a multi-market portfolio of apartment communities, with accountability for financial performance, resident experience, operational excellence, risk management, and talent outcomes.
- Set and execute regional strategy aligned to company priorities, balancing immediate performance with long-term growth.
- Partner across functions to align priorities, allocate resources, and drive consistent execution across diverse markets.
- Build and develop high-performing regional and local leadership teams, strengthening succession and organizational capability.
- Improve processes, service delivery, and scalability while maintaining a strong resident and team member experience.
- Lead through complexity, including growth, change, and future market expansion.

The Leader We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is an accomplished multi-site operations executive with a track record of leading complex portfolios and delivering results through others. They bring strategic perspective, disciplined execution, and the ability to scale performance while maintaining a strong people and customer focus.
Preferred Experience
- Senior leadership experience in multifamily, real estate, hospitality, retail, or another distributed, service-oriented environment, with a record of improving operating performance and customer outcomes.
- Demonstrated success leading large, geographically dispersed teams across multiple markets or business units, including building strong leaders and sustainable bench strength.
- Proven ownership of budgets, operational performance, and strategic initiatives at regional or enterprise scale, with measurable impact on revenue, expense management, and execution.
- Successful leadership through growth, change, and market expansion, including building structure, clarity, and capability for future scale.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience required; advanced degree is a plus.

Work Environment & Travel
This role operates in a professional office and field environment and requires regular travel throughout the region to support communities, leaders, and market expansion efforts. The position also involves time at a desk and on a computer, participation in meetings, and engagement with teams and stakeholders across multiple locations.
