Job Overview:
GrizzlyTrek is currently seeking one Senior Strategic Procurement Specialist to support a high-value industrial operation in the Greater Montréal area. This full-time, hybrid position is well suited for an experienced procurement professional who excels in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and long-term contract development within complex environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, including negotiation planning, award strategies, and approval processes aligned with established procurement frameworks.

  • Negotiate local, regional, and multi-site contracts, covering pricing, delivery schedules, commercial terms, and risk considerations.

  • Contribute to the development and execution of category and commodity strategies, including identifying and maintaining preferred supplier lists.

  • Build, manage, and maintain strong relationships with assigned suppliers to ensure performance, reliability, and continuous improvement.

  • Analyze market conditions, supply trends, and cost drivers to inform sourcing strategies and mitigate procurement risks.

  • Represent internal stakeholder requirements during sourcing activities and ensure alignment between procurement strategies and operational needs.

  • Monitor supplier performance against contractual and operational KPIs, reporting findings and improvement opportunities to stakeholders.

  • Identify, document, and implement cost optimization and value-creation initiatives.

  • Support early supplier engagement to drive cost-reduction, innovation, and lifecycle value.

  • Identify contractual risks and opportunities, supporting the development or enhancement of supplier agreements as required.

  • Implement procurement strategies for both pooled and non-pooled materials and services within the assigned scope.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in strategic procurement, sourcing, or commodity management.

  • Proven experience negotiating and managing high-value, multi-year contracts.

  • Strong commercial, contractual, and negotiation skills with a strategic, long-term mindset.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for spend analysis, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience working within complex, matrixed, or global organizational environments.

  • Solid understanding of supplier management, risk assessment, and performance monitoring.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in energy, aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.

  • Prior leadership experience or involvement in leading cross-functional initiatives.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP (training can be provided).

  • Bilingual capabilities, including French, are considered an asset.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid work arrangement with a combination of onsite and remote work.

  • Office-based role with regular interaction with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Occasional local travel may be required.
