Purpose:

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Director - Mining, Minerals and Metals. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Oakville, Ontario.

Provides direction and project management to ensure project completion in accordance with contractual obligations. Defines project goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in-depth knowledge of customer objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies. Plans, organizes, manages, and controls projects with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the Worley. Supervises project personnel through subordinate leaders.

Typically manages a single large or mega project or multiple, complex projects/programs with some high risk elements. Ability to visualize and design new concepts and ideas related to technical/functional projects. Broad knowledge of business operations and ability to implement and sometimes lead organizational change effectively within project scope. Solutions are derived from interpreted and applied general information and consultation with other individuals. Typically manages work directly through project leads or other project managers. Often serve as a proposal manager for large and mega projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads large cross‐functional internal and external project teams and potentially subcontractors or other PMs.
  • Oversees, motivates and monitors the performance of the team, ensuring quality and timeliness of assignments and roles, and addresses any performance gaps.
  • Create strong collaborative team environment by establishing common vision, setting clear expectations and accountability.
  • Provides leadership to third‐party team members.
  • Experienced in the use of Worley project delivery methodology and associated tools for large complex projects.
  • Demonstrated capability of overseeing large‐scale projects with responsibility for the full performance of the project (planning, directing, supervising and controlling all technical, fiscal and administrative functions).
  • Procurement of equipment/materials on Worley paper, subcontracting and materials plan, multiple contracts on Worley paper.
  • Capability to manage mixed contracting strategy such as Unit Price, Lump Sum, Reimbursable.
  • Has experience with managing complex scope changes.
  • Manages projects and monitors progress in an ordered, accurate way, provides accurate and timely information.
  • Has completed a full project from start to finish and spent time in the field implementing what was engineered.
  • Has coordinated the preparation of an integrated set of project execution plans for large/mega projects or complex projects (i.e., engineering, HSE, Quality, procurement, project controls, estimating, construction, etc.)
  • Manages execution, coordination, and implements regular reviews/controls to track project progress.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Project Control Reports, identifies problem areas and implements recovery plans.
  • Interprets and understands all of the key elements of the project schedule to identify adverse trends and take correction action.
  • Applies forward planning with schedule to resource the project appropriately.
  • Has successfully managed the application of appropriate coordination, reviews and follow ups across the project.
  • Application of Advanced Work Packaging for planning and delivery.
  • Experienced in successful workshare execution.

What you will bring
Technical and Industry Experience:

  • Senior-level relevant supervisory, project management and/or technical experience within the Mining, Minerals & Metals industry. Workshare EPCM, EPC including site assignments Multi-Cultural / Multi-National environments.
  • Professional registration in local jurisdiction. Certified Program Management Professional by a globally recognized project management organization (IPMA, APM, PMI, AIPM).

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required

  • University Degree, or equivalent, in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

For applicants based in the province of Ontario, the salary range is $208,509 - $258,509. Application of the pay band: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as the candidate's qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
