The Role

We are seeking a Senior Manager, SIOP, to lead and mature the end-to-end Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning process at our Fremont site. This role is responsible for aligning demand, supply, and financial plans to enable predictable execution, improved delivery performance, and optimized inventory.


This leader will act as the central integrator across Sales, Operations, Finance, Engineering, and Supply Chain, bringing structure, visibility, and accountability to planning processes in a high-mix, technically complex manufacturing environment.


The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capability, operational credibility, and the ability to drive cross-functional alignment in a fast-paced, evolving organization.


Key Responsibilities

SIOP Leadership & Process Ownership

  • Own and lead the monthly SIOP cycle, including demand review, supply review, pre-SIOP, and executive SIOP meetings. 
  • Establish and continuously improve a standardized, disciplined SIOP process aligned to business growth and operational needs. 
  • Drive alignment between demand forecasts, production capacity, and financial targets. 

Demand & Supply Planning Integration

  • Partner with Sales and Product Management to develop accurate demand forecasts, including pipeline analysis and scenario planning. 
  • Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain to translate demand into feasible production and procurement plans. 
  • Balance capacity constraints, lead times, and inventory strategies to optimize service levels and cost. 

Inventory Optimization

  • Develop inventory strategies to reduce excess and obsolete inventory while maintaining service levels. 
  • Establish target inventory levels, safety stock policies, and planning parameters. 
  • Monitor and drive improvements in inventory turns, working capital, and material availability. 

Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Act as the primary point of integration between Sales, Operations, Finance, Engineering, and Procurement. 
  • Facilitate decision-making by surfacing trade-offs, risks, and opportunities. 
  • Ensure alignment between operational plans and financial forecasts. 

Data, Analytics & Systems

  • Develop and maintain reporting dashboards for key SIOP metrics (forecast accuracy, on-time delivery, backlog health, inventory performance, capacity utilization). 
  • Leverage ERP/MRP systems and planning tools to improve visibility and decision-making. 
  • Drive data integrity and standardization across planning inputs. 

 Risk Management & Scenario Planning

  • Identify risks related to demand volatility, supply constraints, and capacity limitations. 
  • Lead scenario planning and contingency planning efforts. 
  • Proactively escalate issues and recommend mitigation strategies to leadership. 

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Build and develop SIOP/planning capabilities within the site. 
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to planners or analysts (if applicable). 
  • Drive a culture of accountability, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement. 

Performance Measures

  • Forecast Accuracy (e.g., MAPE) 
  • On-Time Delivery / Customer Service Levels 
  • Inventory Turns & Reduction in Excess/Obsolete Inventory 
  • Schedule Adherence / Plan Attainment 
  • Backlog Health & Cycle Time Improvements 
  • Working Capital Optimization 
  • SIOP Process Maturity and Adoption 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred). 
  • 8–12+ years of experience in supply chain, planning, or operations roles, with at least 3–5 years in SIOP leadership. 
  • Experience in high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing (optics, photonics, aerospace/defense, or similar preferred). 
  • Proven track record of implementing or maturing SIOP processes in a complex environment. 
  • Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar). 
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP, or IBF) preferred.
