As Senior Director, Data Center Facilities Operations, you will provide executive leadership for OCI’s mission-critical facilities operations organization across multiple campuses, regions, or a large and complex data center portfolio. Reporting to a Vice President, this role is accountable for the operating model, performance, and scalability of the facilities operations organization that keeps OCI’s critical infrastructure running safely, reliably, and in alignment with uptime commitments.
This role owns how facilities operations is run at scale. That includes operational strategy, execution governance, leadership capability, maintenance and service operating models, incident readiness, process discipline, and performance accountability across the portfolio. The Senior Director ensures OCI’s facilities organization can execute consistently across site operations, service delivery, chief engineering, reliability support, building automation, centralized operations support, and related site-support functions.
This is not primarily a design-engineering role, nor is it a single-site operations role. It is the senior operational leadership position responsible for translating strategy into repeatable execution across the facilities organization. Key Responsibilities
Provide executive leadership for the Data Center Facilities Operations organization across multiple campuses, regions, or a large and complex site portfolio.
Own the portfolio operating model for facilities operations, including organizational structure, operating rhythms, execution governance, escalation paths, leadership accountability, and service consistency.
Lead and develop a leadership bench of Directors, Senior Managers, Facilities Operations Managers, Service Managers, and other senior operations leaders across the portfolio.
Establish and govern enterprise standards for operational execution, including MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, maintenance work control, outage coordination, site readiness, and response discipline during abnormal operating conditions.
Own portfolio-level performance across safety, uptime support, maintenance execution, incident response, service quality, vendor effectiveness, and operational maturity.
Serve as the highest operational escalation point for critical infrastructure events, ensuring rapid decision-making, strong cross-functional coordination, executive communication, and disciplined corrective action follow-through.
Define, monitor, and act on portfolio-wide KPIs related to reliability support, maintenance effectiveness, backlog health, readiness, staffing capability, incident trends, and operational execution quality.
Oversee the execution model for facilities service delivery, self-perform maintenance strategy, and field operational support in alignment with business growth and risk tolerance.
Ensure the facilities organization is scaled appropriately for portfolio growth, including workforce planning, succession planning, role clarity, and leadership capability development.
Partner with Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Reliability, Security, Compliance, and Business Operations leaders to ensure operability, maintainability, and operational supportability are built into new sites, expansions, retrofits, and turnover processes.
Drive systematic identification and mitigation of operational risks, including infrastructure vulnerabilities, readiness gaps, training needs, process weaknesses, and vendor-related concerns.
Provide governance and strategic oversight of critical vendor relationships, maintenance providers, and technical service partners to ensure safe, reliable, and high-quality outcomes.
Champion a culture of safety, accountability, process rigor, and continuous improvement across the facilities operations organization.
Provide executive-level reporting and recommendations to the Vice President and senior leadership team on portfolio health, major risks, organizational readiness, investment needs, and strategic operational priorities.
Ideal Candidate Profile
12+ years of experience in mission-critical operations, data centers, power generation, utilities, industrial operations, or similarly uptime-critical environments.
7+ years of experience leading leaders across multiple sites, large campuses, or broad critical infrastructure operations portfolios.
Deep expertise in operational leadership of electrical, mechanical, controls, and supporting site infrastructure in high-availability environments.
Demonstrated success building operating models, governance structures, and performance accountability across a large-scale operations organization.
Experience leading through Directors and senior managers in complex, fast-growing, and operationally intensive environments.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Facilities, or related field preferred; advanced degree is a plus but not required.

Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent technical credential is a plus.
Experience with regulatory compliance and oversight frameworks relevant to critical infrastructure environments, such as OSHA, EPA, or related requirements.
Strong familiarity with CMMS, BMS, EPMS, SCADA, DCIM, service management, and operational reporting platforms.
Experience operating in hyperscale data center environments or large-scale utility / industrial infrastructure portfolios is strongly preferred.
Experience shaping portfolio-level maintenance, service delivery, or site readiness strategies is strongly preferred.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
This is a mission-critical leadership role supporting 24/7 operations where continuous uptime is essential. Regular attendance, schedule flexibility, travel, and executive availability during major incidents are required.
