Ready to take the lead in strategic procurement?
Carlson Construction Group is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our team in North Vancouver. In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering transformative civil and infrastructure projects while working in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment that values innovation and operational excellence.
About the Role
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will:
- Lead sourcing initiatives across direct and indirect categories
- Drive value creation, risk mitigation, and timely project delivery
- Shape procurement strategies and strengthen vendor relationships
- Champion continuous improvement across the organization
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement of goods and services across multiple business units
- Lead competitive bidding, contract negotiations, and vendor performance evaluations
- Build strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Conduct vendor site visits to identify opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with project teams to anticipate and meet procurement needs
- Serve as the subject matter expert on e-procurement systems and best practices
- Mentor and train team members to promote procurement excellence
- Support logistics coordination for timely and cost-effective delivery
What You Bring
- 5–10 years of experience in centralized procurement, ideally in civil construction or infrastructure
- Expertise in category management, contract negotiation, and vendor development
- Proficiency in MS Office and Tier 1 ERP/CRM systems
- PMAC, SCMA, or equivalent certification (or currently pursuing)
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- A proactive, collaborative, and detail-oriented approach
