The Physical Security Team at Blackstone protects the firm’s people, offices, and operations globally. This includes managing guard services, securing events, overseeing access control operations, and responding to physical security incidents. We are seeking a full‑time Security Operations Manager in our New York office to support and enhance these core functions.
Position Overview:
The Security Operations Manager is an experienced leader responsible for daily operational security guard programs, guard force management, event security coordination, and incident response. This individual ensures operational excellence through strong oversight of guarding programs, development of guarding SOPs, site assessments, and cross‑functional collaboration. The ideal candidate is highly organized, confident communicating with executive leadership, and upholds rigorous standards across all Blackstone locations.
This individual will oversee physical security operations across multiple sites, partnering closely with Facilities, Events teams, venue managers, building management, guard vendors, and physical security leadership. Responsibilities include optimizing the guard force program, managing access control operations, coordinating site surveys, ensuring compliance with standards, and leading incident response workflows. The role requires strong communication skills, exceptional judgment, and the skill to operate in fast‑paced environments. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Operational Program Leadership: Manage daily physical security operations, including guard force deployments, service quality, schedules, and coverage planning; ensure compliance with contract scope and performance expectations.
Incident Response & Management: Lead responses to physical security incidents, coordinate with internal teams, escalate when needed, and deliver clear post‑incident summaries.
Guarding Standards & SOPs: Develop, maintain, and enforce guarding SOPs, post orders, training requirements, and escalation procedures; introduce continuous improvement based on audits and incident reviews.
Event Security & Planning: Coordinate security requirements for in‑house and external events, partnering with event organizers, venue managers, and protective operations teams to ensure safe and seamless execution.
Access Control & Site Operations: Oversee access control operations, badge workflows, guest handling, and lobby security procedures; work with platform owners and building partners to resolve operational issues.
Site Surveys & Standards Compliance: Conduct and coordinate site surveys, risk assessments, and compliance checks to ensure all physical security standards and design guidelines are met across the portfolio.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as a liaison with Facilities, Real Estate, Events, IT/Network, guard vendors, and building management; maintain proactive communication and alignment across teams.
Communications & Reporting: Provide operational updates, incident tracking, staffing insights, and summaries for leadership.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience managing physical security operations in corporate, financial, or large enterprise environments.
Strong experience managing guard forces, drafting SOPs/post orders, and ensuring compliance with operational standards.
Experience coordinating event security and working with venue managers or building management.
Knowledge of access control operations and physical incident response procedures.
Demonstrated experience conducting site surveys, audits, and risk assessments.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; confidence speaking to leadership.
Proven experience managing vendors, schedules, budgets, and operational workflows.
Preferred Qualifications:
Expertise in access control and visitor management systems preferred.
Familiarity with incident management tools preferred.
Experience collaborating with corporate real estate or facilities teams preferred.
Preferred certifications: CPP, PSP, or equivalent physical security credentials.
Experience in regulated or multi-site environments preferred.
Operational leadership experience with guard force management, SOP development, and service quality oversight.
Incident & event management experience with incident response, event planning, and risk mitigation.
Technical & domain expertise relating to access control operations, visitor handling, and site surveys.
Delivers & executes on program oversight, contractor management, and audit readiness.
Communication skills in order to provide concise updates, leadership‑level briefings, and coordinate with stakeholder.

Expected annual base salary range:
$140,000 - $200,000Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone’s sole discretion.
