Job Description

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Government Operations in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned government locations, remaining highly visible to help deter security-related incidents. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, responding to incidents, and providing outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the government property and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Report security-related incidents, hazards, and unusual occurrences according to established protocols.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as required during incidents and/or emergencies.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the assigned location to help to deter criminal activity and provide reassurance to staff and visitors.
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports accurately and promptly.
  • Follow all site-specific procedures and protocols as directed by Allied Universal and the client site.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Provide proof of high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a DD214 with honorable discharge or an associate degree or 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
