This is a full-time permanent position, with the opportunity to learn and grow. The successful candidate can expect a competitive base salary of $65,000 annually, depending on experience.

 

Our competitive benefit plan includes extended healthcare and dental, and a Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) where employees are matched up to 7% of their contributions. Employees also receive three weeks paid vacation annually, as well as two paid personal days, and a paid birthday day off.

Position Overview

The Retail Engagement & Logistics Lead is a pivotal role within GVFB's growing Food Preservation Program, supporting retail engagement, logistics, product development, marketing, and community impact. This position helps bring surplus food recovery products to market while advancing GVFB's mission.


As the program continues to expand, this role will evolve alongside it. We are seeking someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, embraces a broad range of responsibilities, and is excited to help shape the future of the program. This is a highly visible position with significant opportunities for growth, increased responsibility, and career development as the Food Preservation Program expands across British Columbia.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver food preservation products to retail, community, and partner locations throughout British Columbia, while building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Set up and maintain product displays that support sales and brand visibility.
  • Coordinate product sampling, demonstrations, events, and community activations.
  • Collaborate with communications and external stakeholders on all product marketing.
  • Support inventory management, product replenishment, and delivery logistics.
  • Perform administrative tasks to support sales and operational objectives.
  • Coordinate inventory needs with the Supply Chain team.
  • Liaise with the Logistics team for vehicle maintenance and scheduling.
  • Represent GVFB and the Food Preservation Program in a professional and engaging manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Operations leadership.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Post-secondary education in business, sales, marketing or a combination of relevant work experience.
  • Experience operating box trucks and managing deliveries an asset.
  • Experience and knowledge of food preservation an asset.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint).
  • Familiarity with non-profit organizations is ideal.


Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to ambient temperatures and noisy conditions.
  • The ability to walk, stand, and drive intermittently.
  • Bending and lifting boxes up to 50 lbs intermittently.
  • Travel between GVFB facilities and throughout British Columbia as needed.
  • Flexible schedule to work events on weekends and evenings as needed.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
