DescriptionThe Ramp Operations Specialist (NOC) is responsible for enterprise-wide aircraft parking optimization, real-time ramp capacity management, and strategic demand planning across Signature Aviation’s global network. Operating within the Network Operations Center (NOC), this role translates enterprise ramp standards, capacity models, and surge frameworks into executable daily allocation plans that protect safety margins, optimize aircraft flow, and enable a premium guest experience.
This position exercises independent judgment in balancing operational constraints, regulatory considerations, guest priorities, and safety standards in dynamic, high-volume environments. Serving as the enterprise authority for ramp allocation decisions, this role proactively identifies congestion risks, initiates mitigation strategies, and ensures efficient surface management during peak demand, special events, and irregular operations.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute daily network-wide ramp parking plans using standardized configuration and capacity models.
- Assign aircraft parking based on wingspan category, operational requirements, guest priority, safety buffers, and service requirements.
- Monitor daily flight schedules, arrival/departure patterns, and special handling requirements to proactively allocate ramp resources.
- Balance competing operational priorities while protecting safety and service standards across the network.
- Continuously monitor ramp utilization and identify early indicators of congestion or capacity constraints.
- Exercise independent judgment to initiate mitigation strategies, including reallocation, sequencing adjustments, or coordination with field operations.
- Serve as the primary NOC decision authority for enterprise ramp allocation and surface flow management.
- Develop pre-event ramp allocation strategies to support special events, seasonal peaks, and surge volumes.
- Support enterprise planning for irregular operations, weather impacts, and high-traffic periods.
- Collaborate with field operations leadership to ensure coordinated execution and readiness.
- Liaise with FAA/NBAA stakeholders, key guest accounts, and internal operations teams to coordinate scheduling and optimize surface flow.
- Provide subject matter expertise on ramp layout optimization and enterprise capacity planning.
- Ensure ramp decisions align with safety, regulatory, and operational standards.
- Track and analyze ramp utilization metrics to identify trends, constraints, and improvement opportunities.
- Maintain accurate ramp diagrams, digital overlays, and capacity dashboards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of enterprise ramp modeling standards and allocation frameworks.
QualificationsMinimum Education and/or Experience:
- 3+ years of aviation ramp operations, flight operations coordination, or network operations experience.
- Experience operating in high-volume, multi-location, or enterprise aviation environments preferred.
Additional knowledge and skills:
- Advanced situational awareness and spatial reasoning in complex operational environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with the ability to interpret ramp diagrams and capacity models.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound independent judgment under pressure.
- Strong understanding of ramp safety standards, aircraft characteristics, and ground handling procedures.
- Knowledge of Air Traffic Control programs and surface management processes.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and coordination skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and aviation planning or scheduling systems.
- Experience with ramp planning tools, PPR systems, or operational dashboards preferred.
