What You'll Do

As the Purchasing Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning material requirements, sourcing and purchasing materials, and coordinating supply activities to support project execution and customer commitments. You will work closely with Project Managers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure materials are available when needed while maintaining cost effectiveness and quality standards. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and purchasing raw materials, OEM components, and project-specific supplies.
• Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
• Negotiating pricing, availability, and delivery schedules with vendors.
• Collaborating with Project Managers to forecast material requirements and support project timelines.
• Managing material shortages, backlogs, and supply-chain challenges.
• Identifying new suppliers, products, and sourcing opportunities to improve quality, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
• Maintaining accurate purchasing and inventory data within the ERP system.
• Supporting efficient material flow and continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Ensuring purchasing activities align with company policies, procedures, and safety requirements. 

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is a proactive and detail-oriented professional who can balance multiple priorities while maintaining a strong sense of urgency and customer focus.

Qualifications include:

• 5+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing.
• 5+ years of purchasing and supplier negotiation experience.
• Experience working with ERP systems; Visual ERP experience is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of industrial steel products and OEM components.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work effectively with suppliers, Project Managers, and cross-functional teams.

Work Environment

This position is primarily office-based in Chilliwack, BC, with regular visits to the warehouse and manufacturing facility to support project requirements and material coordination.
