New World Dairy Inc. in St. David's, Newfoundland and Labrador, is seeking a skilled and proactive Purchaser / Buyer to manage our supply chain operations. As one of Canada’s largest dairy operations, we need a procurement professional to secure essential farm inputs, manage supplier relationships, and optimize logistics.

Job Details

• Position: Purchaser / Buyer
• Location: St. David's, NL (Western Newfoundland, Bay St. George South)
• Term: Full-Time, Permanent
• Salary: $25 - $30 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Core Responsibilities

• Source farm inputs: Parts and supplies.
• Manage supplier networks: Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms suppliers.
• Coordinate logistics: Mitigate shipping insuring on-time delivery.
• Track farm inventory: Monitor stock levels to prevent critical shortages while avoiding excessive overhead costs.
• Review cost metrics: Identify cost-saving procurement strategies without compromising quality.
• Collaborate across teams: Coordinate closely with farm managers, maintenance teams, and farm leadership to anticipate upcoming supply needs.

What We Are Looking For

• A special someone with a great attitude warm but professional personality.
• Well rounded with a strong prepensity towards learning. High level of comfort with “new” things.
• A basic understanding of machine function, electrical workings and computer control systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) and modern internet search frameworks.

· High comfort level navigating digital platforms and utilizing search engines to source hard-to-find parts and vendors.

• Exceptional negotiation capability and professional relationship-building skills.
• This position is closed to non residences
