Temporary, Full Time (35 hours per week)
End date – March 05, 2027
At the City of Leduc, our Corporate Information Technology (CIT) team supports the people and systems that keep our community running. Behind every reliable technology service is a group of dedicated professionals who bring organization, care, and collaboration to their work.
We are currently seeking a Project and Operations Coordinator to join our CIT team in a temporary role ending March 5, 2027. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in supporting projects, operations, and customer service across a dynamic IT department.
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Information Technology, the Project and Operations Coordinator play a key role in supporting CIT operations through procurement, financial administration, project coordination, and service desk triage.
This role exists to ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of the CIT department — supporting staff, maintaining accurate systems and records, assisting with budgeting and procurement, and serving as a welcoming first point of contact for IT support across the organization.
In this multifaceted role, you will support both operational and customer-facing functions within the CIT department. Key responsibilities include:
Provide operational and administrative support to the CIT department, including reporting, maintaining system access lists, managing user licensing, and supporting process improvements.
Support financial management activities, such as processing invoices and purchase orders, monitoring operational and capital budgets, assisting with forecasting, and preparing financial reports for leadership.
Coordinate procurement and asset management, including purchasing IT hardware and software, receiving and tracking assets, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring hardware standards are followed across the organization.
Support projects and initiatives, assisting with coordination, documentation, and administration across a variety of CIT-led projects.
Deliver front-line service desk triage and customer service, acting as the first point of contact for IT requests, prioritizing and assigning tickets, assisting with hardware-related tickets, and supporting timely issue resolution.
Collaborate across departments, working closely with CIT staff, finance, vendors, and City departments to ensure responsive and effective service delivery.
You are an organized, service-oriented professional who enjoys balancing administrative responsibilities with customer support and project coordination. You bring:
A post-secondary diploma (minimum two years) or degree in Computer Science, Business, Accounting, Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial administration, ideally within an IT or operational environment.
Experience working in an IT service desk or technical support environment, with familiarity using ticketing systems.
Working knowledge of Active Directory, basic computer hardware, and workstation troubleshooting.
Strong organizational, documentation, and attention-to-detail skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information in a clear, user-friendly way.
A collaborative mindset, strong customer service orientation, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Assets include ITIL Foundations, Microsoft or Apple certifications, and exposure to project management practices.
This is a fixed-term opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience within a municipal IT environment while contributing to meaningful work. In this role, we offer:
Practical, real-world experience supporting IT operations, projects, procurement, and service delivery in a complex, public-sector environment.
Exposure to diverse areas of IT, including financial administration, asset management, service desk operations, and project coordination.
A supportive and collaborative workplace, where teamwork, learning, and mutual respect are part of how we work together.
Access to the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP), providing confidential support resources for you and your family.
A free annual pass to City of Leduc recreation facilities, including access to drop-in programs to support your health and well-being.
The successful candidate must provide a current Criminal Record Check at their own expense.
If you are detail-oriented, customer-focused, and interested in building your experience within a municipal IT environment, we encourage you to apply and become part of the City of Leduc’s CIT team. Apply today at www.leduc.ca/careers.
