Scope:

 

Responsible for leading a production team to meet daily goals, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards. Acts as a liaison between team members and management, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

 

Job Summary:

 

The Production Coordinator II oversees the activities of assemblers, coordinates schedules, and ensures optimal resource allocation. Provides guidance, resolves issues, and drives process improvements to achieve operational excellence.



Responsibilities
  • Lead daily team meetings to communicate goals, priorities, and safety reminders. 
  • Coordinate work schedules and allocate resources to meet production targets. 
  • Monitor team performance and provide coaching, feedback, and training as needed. 
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO standards, and company policies. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation of production activities, quality checks, and team attendance. 
  • Collaborate with supervisors and other departments to resolve production issues promptly. 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency. 
  • Support root cause analysis for quality or process deviations and implement corrective actions. 
  • Promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and safety. 
  • As business needs dictate, works extended hours to complete daily department goals.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for resource optimization and workflow improvements. 
  • Lead cross-functional projects to enhance production capabilities and reduce costs. 
  • Act as primary liaison between production team and senior management for reporting and planning. 
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend process enhancements. 
  • Meets all production requirements and performance standards as defined by area Supervisor.
  • Works to meet operational targets that directly influence production results and may carry significant cost or expenditure implications. 
  • Achieves operational goals by guiding, delegating to, and reviewing the work of other team members within the job area. 

  • Handles complex assignments requiring independent judgment, strong problem‑solving skills, and a high level of initiative. 

  • Recommends new procedures and improvements to existing processes to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the job area.

  • Communicates with internal and external partners on matters that require clear explanation, interpretation, and context. 

  • Explains practices, procedures, and policies to stakeholders inside and outside the department to ensure shared understanding. 

  • Possesses expert-level knowledge within a specific operational discipline, gained through extensive experience and/or formal education. 

Travel:

  • No regular travel required; occasional training travel may occur.


Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. 
    • Excellent communication and documentation abilities. 
    • Knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies. 
    • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues effectively. 
    • Proficiency in scheduling and resource planning tools. 

 

Work Environment:

 

  • Standing for prolonged periods. 
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. 
  • Exposure to packaging materials and machinery.
  • May require wearing PPE such as gloves, mask and hairnet in some production areas.
  • Good communication and reliability.

 

Experience:

 

  • Typically requires 7+ years of assembly experience with proven leadership in complex operations. 

 

Education: 

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; advanced training or certifications preferred.
