About the team and the role:

The Search Engine Optimization/Answer Engine Optimization (SEO/AEO) team is addressing the challenges and opportunities of a new landscape for internet searching. The emergence of ChatGPT and Gemini, among others, is changing how users find what they need online and our team strives to ensure eBay's visibility on those surfaces. The Buyer Intent group specifically is tasked with understanding what users are searching for on search engines and LLMs (intents), taking actions to improve eBay's visibility in those searches, and managing pages across SEO/AEO-owned page types. We are looking for a Product Manager who has appreciation for eBay shoppers both new and existing, and who is looking for the challenge of developing bold and innovative solutions to meet the needs of millions of eBay users across the globe.

We are seeking a Product Manager to enhance our intent visibility efforts and collaborate with partner teams to improve how we show up for buyers outside of eBay. The successful candidate for this role will have a keen business mind and understand how to use data insights and research to make product decisions and have a track record of successfully delivering complex products in a large matrixed company.

What you will accomplish:

  • Define and drive product roadmap for a subset of intent visibility initiatives.

  • Improve intent classification, opportunity identification, and off-site visibility.

  • Collaborate with data science, engineering, and operations to build scalable solutions.

  • Lead testing and experimentation to validate hypotheses and optimize performance.

  • Monitor KPIs like impressions, traffic, and page engagement to guide decision-making.

  • Partner cross-functionally with search, buyer success, and vertical teams.

What you will bring:

  • 3+ years experience in Product Management

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • e-commerce or consumer products preferred

  • Comfortable working with engineering (able to understand somewhat technical concepts)

  • Data-driven and results-oriented

  • Track record of product execution and delivery

  • Excellent communication & people skills

  • Experience working with user experience design and research

  • Comfortable working in large, matrixed organizations
