Position Summary

The Procurement Specialist supports the sourcing and purchasing of materials and services required to support manufacturing and operational needs. This role manages multiple categories and works closely with internal teams and suppliers to ensure materials are available, costs are controlled, and service expectations are met. This position will be integral in the implementation of a procure to pay system.

This position is well-suited for a motivated individual who wants to learn procurement in a manufacturing environment. Industry experience is not required — training will be provided.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Manage procurement activities across multiple spend categories (e.g., packaging, ingredients, MRO, supplies, services)

• Communicate with internal departments to understand material and service requirements

• Coordinate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery schedules

• Issue and follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely fulfillment

• Monitor supplier performance and help resolve delivery, quality, or pricing issues

• Support inventory availability through proactive planning and communication

• Assist with supplier onboarding, documentation, and compliance requirements

• Identify opportunities for cost savings, improved sourcing strategies, and process improvements

• Support audits and reporting as needed

 

Qualifications

• Past experience in procure-to-ay implementations or related experience.

  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Clear written and verbal communication skills

• Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn

Preferred

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field

  CPSM or equivalent acceptable

• Prior experience in purchasing, operations, or administrative roles

• Exposure to manufacturing or food production environments

 

Training & Development

• Hands-on training in procurement fundamentals

• Exposure to multiple categories and operational areas

• Ongoing learning and mentorship
