Position Summary:
Reporting to the Plant Manager. This role will act as analyst and coordinator for domestic purchases and international import purchases for direct goods required in production and potentially other sundry items required by the plant. This position will have direct contact with a variety of suppliers and customs brokers and will collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that all goods arrive at the plant on time, at the right price, in the right quantities and to specification.
Key Accountabilities
Purchase of required direct materials such as packaging, and ingredients to satisfy all plant requirements
Documents verification, gathering logistic information and updating tracking tools
Collaborate with the Accounts Payable department to ensure the bank releases documents on a timely basis
Delivery coordination with carriers and warehouses
Work directly with Manager, Inventory to ensure that the plant meets inventory targets
Collaborate with forecast and scheduling to ensure all materials are delivered on time to requirement dates
Collaborate with the logistics department for any local pick ups
Responsible for dealing with Suppliers, plant visits, audits and gathering all the information and documents that Quality Assurance staff requires from assigned plant
Deal with all Quality Assurance issues and claims
Requirements:
University degree in Business Management
Experience in the meat industry strongly preferred, experience in manufacturing industry required
2-5 years’ experience in supply chain, and food processing.
Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office and database management
Hiring Range: CAD $56,523 - $75,458
Bonus: This position is eligible for a bonus up to 7% of base salary subject to the plan terms and conditions.
Please note that the expected hiring range provided is derived from a group of like roles within Sofina. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, skillset of the candidate and internal equity.
