Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada (Hybrid)Provide efficient and cost-effective value-added purchasing support to Project Teams. Contribute to the profitability/competitiveness of the company. Fully integrate within a Project Team (IPT) to manage the purchasing requirements and ensure all purchasing and subcontract packages are delivered on time, on budget, and meeting required quality standards. Plan and manage the equipment procurement in a way that streamlines and secures the supply chain for assigned projects. Act as a Project Supply Chain Lead for assigned projects.
Key Accountabilities:
Work with the Project team to develop the Procurement Strategy for allocated projects, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and communication within the Project and function.
Develop the Acquisition Plan to implement procurement strategy across the Project based on a reviewed and agreed Subcontract Management Process suitable for the project.
Conduct Project Procurement execution through the implementation of the Acquisition Project Procurement Plan, ensuring convergence of risks, costs, and lead times.
Implement the Acquisition Management Process following established guidelines, managing authorization to purchase or manufacture equipment, including spares, on time.
Formulate and implement the Make/Team/Buy strategy for the Project.
Optimize the purchasing mix (cost and schedule) for assigned proposals.
Identify procurement risks related to equipment and provide assessments with mitigation measures.
Launch RFQs with the Category Manager team in support of proposals as defined in the Project Procurement Plan.
Take on Purchasing Work Package Management responsibilities within the Integrated Project Team, ensuring Customer flow-down requirements are met.
Collaborate with global purchasing teams to involve the right suppliers early, ensuring designs are optimized for cost, delivery, and quality.
Manage purchasing activities and costs (EAC) throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Analyze equipment and system costs to identify areas for reduction and develop a Purchasing Savings Opportunities plan.
Identify procurement and supplier risks and develop/implement mitigation plans.
Collaborate with Engineering to optimize design and delivery, ensuring alignment with design release schedules and savings opportunities.
Conduct Product Readiness Reviews (PRR) to ensure timely hardware design releases for procurement.
Monitor and ensure project execution aligns with the Procurement Plan, addressing any deviations to maintain schedule and budget compliance.
Participate in change management processes to address design changes released by Engineering, ensuring prompt processing by Purchasing and accurate documentation of impacts.
Conduct lessons learned reviews for acquisition work packages with relevant teams.
Act as a Project Supply Chain Lead, coordinating activities to ensure timely execution of deliverables.
Key Requirements:
Scientific or technical background with a post-secondary degree (Bachelor of Science, Engineering, or equivalent) and additional business education or experience.
8+ years of experience in Project Management and/or project-based organizations.
Superior interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, especially for daily interactions, negotiations, and reporting.
Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel knowledge.
Strong understanding of project risk management, evaluation, and mitigation planning.
Demonstrated ability to drive project completions and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in procurement-related roles handling large-scale projects.
Salary Range: $ 101,717 -$130,613
