Strategic Sourcing Manager, Negotiation & Contracting – Americas Procurement
This newly created role will establish dedicated negotiation and contracting capability within the Americas Procurement team. The Strategic Sourcing Manager, Negotiation & Contracting, will bring structure, discipline, and commercial focus to supplier negotiations, renewals, amendments, and contracting activity.
While this position requires a strong understanding of the full strategic sourcing process, the primary focus will be on the negotiation and contracting phases—identifying opportunities, developing commercially sound strategies, partnering with stakeholders and Legal, and driving those opportunities through execution. The ideal candidate has a strategic sourcing background, enjoys negotiation and contracting, communicates effectively with senior leaders, and can proactively bring forward optimization ideas that deliver measurable savings and stronger supplier outcomes.
Your day to day:
Serve as the negotiation and contracting subject matter expert for the procurement team, bringing structure, commercial discipline, and execution focus to supplier-facing activity.
Use strategic sourcing knowledge, spend data, commodity market movements, supplier cost drivers, contract terms, and market intelligence to develop and execute clear negotiation and contracting strategies.
Lead supplier negotiations across pricing, commercial terms, renewals, amendments, service expectations, and other business terms to deliver measurable savings, cost avoidance, risk mitigation, and improved supplier outcomes.
Partner closely with Legal to draft, review, redline, and negotiate master agreements, amendments, renewals, and related contract documents, with ownership for commercial business terms and stakeholder alignment.
Proactively bring forward optimization ideas, build the business case, align the right stakeholders, and drive approved opportunities through execution.
Partner across multiple functions and levels of the organization, including Procurement, Legal, Finance, Operations, and senior leadership, to manage trade-offs, communicate recommendations, and drive decisions to resolution.
Manage multiple negotiation, contracting, renewal, and optimization workstreams at different stages of execution, ensuring clear visibility to progress, risks, decisions, deadlines, and next steps.
What we need from you:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in procurement, supply chain, business, finance, or a related field.
Typically 5+ years of progressive strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, supplier management, or commercial contracting experience.
Strong understanding of the full strategic sourcing process, with hands-on experience in sourcing strategy, RFPs, supplier evaluation, negotiation, contracting, and supplier recommendation.
Prior experience as a Strategic Sourcing Manager or in a similar role is preferred, with demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and drive commercial outcomes through negotiation and contracting.
Strong interest and demonstrated capability in supplier negotiation and contracting, including pricing, commercial terms, renewals, amendments, and business terms with suppliers.
Strong working knowledge of commercial contracts, with experience drafting or redlining business terms and partnering effectively with Legal on master agreements, renewals, amendments, and related documents.
Ability to use market intelligence, commodity movements, supplier cost drivers, contract provisions, and spend data to identify negotiation and optimization opportunities.
Commercially minded and data-driven, with the ability to translate market insights and supplier economics into practical recommendations that deliver measurable savings and improved business outcomes.
Highly organized and detail oriented, with the ability to manage multiple negotiation, contracting, renewal, and optimization workstreams at different stages of execution.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage timelines, decisions, stakeholder input, supplier follow-up, risks, and deliverables through completion.
Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear recommendations, summarize trade-offs, present commercial opportunities, and influence decisions with senior stakeholders.
Effective cross-functional partner who can build credibility across Procurement, Legal, Finance, Operations, suppliers, and business leaders at multiple levels of the organization.
Proficiency with procurement tools, sourcing platforms, analytics tools, contract management systems, or digital sourcing solutions preferred.
Experience proactively identifying savings, cost avoidance, contract improvement, or supplier optimization opportunities and driving them through execution is strongly preferred.
Travel: Up to 15%, subject to business needs.
Location: Remote based in Canada.
Compensation: Salary range of CAD $98,000 to $118,000, plus bonus eligibility. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, paid time off, and more.
