Summary

The Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that ensure cost-effective procurement of goods and services while maintaining quality and supplier performance standards. This role combines strong procurement leadership with cost accounting expertise to enhance financial visibility, optimize spend, and improve profitability across the organization.

Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing 

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans aligned with business goals and budget objectives;
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure optimal value and quality;
  • Manage supplier relationships, performance, and risk to ensure continuity of supply;
  • Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities through supplier consolidation, process improvement, and demand management;
  • Oversee purchase order processes and ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.

Process Improvement & Compliance 

  • Lead initiatives to streamline purchasing and inventory processes to reduce waste and improve efficiency;
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, procurement policies, and regulatory requirements;
  • Implement procurement KPIs and dashboards to monitor spend, supplier performance, and savings;
  • Support audit requests and documentation related to procurement and cost accounting.

Cost Accounting & Financial Analysis

  • Partner with Finance to analyze procurement costs, variances, and cost drivers impacting margins;
  • Maintain accurate cost records for materials, components, and services used in production or operations;
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to inventory valuation, accruals, and cost of goods sold (COGS);
  • Collaborate with accounting to reconcile purchase transactions and ensure correct General Ledger (GL) postings;
  • Provide cost analysis and forecasts to support budgeting, pricing, and profitability initiatives.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
  • Professional certifications such as C.P.M., CPSM, CMA, or CPA are a plus.

Main Requirements

  • Minimum 5-8 years of procurement experience, with at least 2 years involving cost accounting or financial analysis;
  • Experience in manufacturing, healthcare, or other cost-driven industries is preferred;
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret cost data and translate it into actionable insights;
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (Microsoft D365, LIMS, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Excel for cost and spend analysis;
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills;
  • Detail-oriented, results-driven, and capable of balancing strategic and operational priorities;
  • Knowledge of GAAP and standard cost accounting principles.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time permanent position, hybrid, with 2-3 days onsite per week.
