Job Summary
The Procurement Manager plays a critical role in strengthening the companies supply chain integrity, transparency, and efficiency across Canada. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of procurement and vendor relations—ensuring product quality, cost-effectiveness, and consistent supply to franchisees and corporate locations.
The Procurement Manager will lead SKU rationalization, identify cost-saving opportunities, and build a structured, data-driven procurement process that supports operational, marketing, and financial objectives. This role is key to building trust with franchisees, improving product availability, and driving profitability across the system.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Supply Chain Management
Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, from sourcing and vendor negotiation to order management and delivery coordination.
Maintain and optimize the Approved Product List (APL) and SKU catalog, ensuring products are relevant, cost-effective, and aligned with brand standards.
Identify and eliminate underperforming or redundant SKUs to improve supply efficiency and inventory control.
Evaluate current supply chain practices and introduce standardized procurement policies and reporting structures.
Ensure product availability across franchise and corporate locations through proactive supplier management and forecasting.
Vendor Relations & Transparency
Audit and restructure vendor partnerships to eliminate conflicts of interest, ensure fair competition, and enhance quality assurance.
Establish a transparent and documented vendor selection and approval process.
Negotiate contracts and pricing to achieve cost savings without compromising quality or service reliability.
Maintain regular supplier performance evaluations and implement corrective actions where needed.
Cost Management & Efficiency
Collaborate with the Finance team to analyze purchasing data, identify cost-reduction opportunities, and support budgeting and forecasting.
Partner with Marketing and Operations to align procurement decisions with menu development, promotional campaigns, and operational requirements.
Develop procurement KPIs and performance dashboards to monitor spend, supplier performance, and delivery timelines.
System Development & Process Improvement
Implement procurement management tools and digital systems for tracking, approvals, and reporting.
Standardize purchase order (PO) processes, approval hierarchies, and recordkeeping to ensure accountability and compliance.
Support franchisees by ensuring they have access to approved, high-quality, and competitively priced supplies.
Cross-Department Collaboration
Work closely with Operations to ensure franchise supply needs are met efficiently and accurately.
Partner with Marketing on new product development, launches, and promotional materials sourcing.
Liaise with Finance for vendor payments, audits, and compliance.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and negotiation skills with a focus on transparency and cost optimization.
Deep understanding of supply chain management, procurement systems, and vendor performance evaluation.
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communicator capable of building trust with internal teams and external suppliers.
Integrity-driven and detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or purchasing (restaurant, foodservice, or franchise industry preferred).
Proven experience in vendor negotiation, product sourcing, and SKU management.
Proficiency with procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
Working Conditions
Full-time position based in Mississauga, ON (hybrid work environment).
Occasional travel required for supplier visits, warehouse inspections, and franchise support.
