Role Overview:
Hera Technologies is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to build, scale, and lead the company’s procurement function in support of aerospace and defense manufacturing programs. This role will be responsible for establishing procurement processes and procedures from the ground up, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring material availability, cost control, and compliance with industry and customer requirements.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on aerospace and defense procurement experience, thrives in fast-growing environments, and is comfortable balancing strategic process development with day-to-day execution.
 
Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Strategy & Process Development
-Design, implement, and continuously improve procurement policies, procedures, and workflows from inception through maturity
-Establish standardized processes for sourcing, purchasing, supplier onboarding, and performance management
-Develop and maintain procurement documentation aligned with aerospace and defense quality and compliance requirements

Supplier Management & Sourcing
-Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers for raw materials, machined components, special processes, and services
-Lead RFQs, supplier negotiations, contract terms, and pricing strategies
-Build long-term supplier partnerships to support quality, delivery, and cost objectives

Operational Execution
-Oversee day-to-day purchasing activities to ensure on-time delivery of materials and services supporting production schedules
-Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program teams to support new product introduction and program execution
-Monitor supplier performance, manage risks, and resolve supply chain disruptions

Team Leadership
-Lead, mentor, and develop direct reports, providing clear priorities, coaching, and performance feedback
-Assign workloads and ensure procurement activities align with operational and program needs

Compliance & Cost Control
-Ensure procurement activities comply with aerospace and defense standards, customer flow-downs, and internal quality systems
-Track and manage procurement spend, cost reduction initiatives, and supplier-driven savings
-Support audits and reviews related to purchasing and supplier management

Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
· 7+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, preferably in aerospace and defense manufacturing
· Proven experience building or formalizing procurement processes and procedures
· Experience managing and developing direct reports
· Strong negotiation, supplier management, and contract experience
· Familiarity with AS9100, aerospace quality systems, and defense customer requirements
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Preferred Qualifications:
· Aerospace and defense industry experience strongly preferred
· Experience supporting complex manufacturing programs and production environments
· Experience with Epicor ERP systems and data-driven procurement management
· Background working in a growing or entrepreneurial organization
