With exciting goals for the future of our organization, we are currently in search of a Procurement Manager to join us at our facility on Annacis Island in Delta. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team and make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and fast-paced fabrication environment.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Project Services, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process for materials and services essential to our overall operations, while maintaining the highest standards of cost control, quality, and timeliness.

Highlights of job duties include:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that support our project timelines, budgets, and quality requirements
  • Lead and participate in the procurement of goods and services
  • Perform purchasing duties in addition to managerial responsibilities
  • Source and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best pricing, quality, and lead times for materials, equipment, and services
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align procurement with project deadlines and specifications
  • Maintain and manage supplier relationships to ensure consistent supply and quality control, resolving any procurement issues or delays that may impact project timelines
  • Oversee inventory management to ensure optimal levels of stock while minimizing costs
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and industry standards during the procurement process
  • Prepare and manage procurement budgets, and track savings and cost reductions
  • Prepare reports for senior management on procurement activities, market trends, and performance metrics

Here’s what we’re seeking in the successful candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within the metal fabrication industry
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing competitive pricing and favorable contract terms
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, supply chain processes, and materials used in pressure vessel, pressure piping, module fabrication and similar related industrial fabrication.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and manage relationships with suppliers
  • Commitment to customer service and workplace excellence
  • Ability and desire to utilize technology to streamline and improve processes
  • Ability to troubleshoot and creatively problem-solve
  • A positive and team-oriented approach to work. Dependable and trustworthy.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed, with the ability to work independently
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite

Experience in the following areas would be considered an asset:

  • Experience working in a unionized environment and with the trades
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards
  • Process pipe fabrication
  • Pressure pipe/vessel fabrication
  • Structural, modular fabrication
  • Material processing (cutting, forming, machining etc.)
  • Material finishing (cleaning, coating application etc.)
