Job purpose


IMMY’s Procurement Manager’s main responsibility is to facilitate the purchase of all the goods and services necessary for our business to operate. This position will work closely with our Production Department to develop quotes for needed items, communicate raw material arrival dates, and forecast purchase dates based on lead time. Communication with suppliers to either expedite or delay shipments, as necessary, is vital to the success of this position. 


Key duties and responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance to terms of contracts and agreements
  • Maintaining the purchasing policy and ensuring that all purchases adhere to it
  • Liaison with other departments, particularly Accounts Payable and Production
  • Selects vendors, placing orders for materials or services as needed
  • Requests quotes from vendors for multiple departments within the company
  • Track status of orders ensuring that materials are shipped and delivered on promised dates
  • Deal with non-supplied, short orders, overages, and damaged goods
  • Ensure any invoices received are sent to accounts payable for payment
  • Maintains approved vendor list as required. Ensures that all purchases for products are sourced from approved vendors only
  • Conducts annual vendor reviews
  • Maintains records of purchases, shipments, and related matters
  • Works with the Director of Supply Chain to optimize purchasing processes and inventory controls
  • Manages inventory levels to minimize stock outs and reduce total cost of inventory
  • Supervises purchasing activities and ensure they comply with IMMY procedures
  • Designs and conducts all purchasing training
  • Maintains IMMY policy and procedures updating as necessary with approval
  • Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree, Bachelor’s preferred
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Knowledge and understanding of inventory management and controls
  • Knowledge and understanding of purchasing methods
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Fishbowl or other ERP 
  • Prior purchasing experience
  • Ability to speak, read, and write clear, concise English
  • Ability to accurately read and understand written materials and instructions
