Description

CERTEX USA is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Procurement Director to join our Corporate team. This role will lead regional teams, oversee daily operations, and drive business growth. 


Position Overview

The Procurement Director is responsible for leading and optimizing the performance of multiple lifting and rigging facilities within an assigned region. This role ensures the highest standards of safety, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, facility organization, and on-time order fulfillment while driving consistent execution of company policies and strategic objectives.


Job Summary:

The Procurement Director provides enterprise-wide leadership for Procurement, sourcing, and inventory procurement and replenishment, ensuring material availability, cost competitiveness, and disciplined working capital management in support of revenue growth, EBITDA expansion, and service excellence. The role oversees strategic sourcing, supplier performance, and inventory planning across raw materials, fabricated components, finished goods, and MRO inventory, balancing project-based and recurring demand, market volatility, and operational constraints. As a key member of the leadership team, the Procurement Director partners cross-functionally to align supply chain execution with demand, margin objectives, and long-term scalability in a growth-oriented environment.


Essential Functions:

  • Develop and execute enterprise-wide Procurement, sourcing, and inventory procurement strategies that support revenue growth, margin expansion, service-level targets, and working capital objectives.
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across raw materials, fabricated components, finished goods, and MRO inventory, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, pricing, and risk management.
  • Oversee inventory planning and replenishment across multiple locations, balancing project-based and recurring demand, long lead times, commodity volatility, and fabrication capacity constraints.
  • Establish inventory policies, stocking strategies, and replenishment models that optimize material availability while minimizing excess, obsolescence, and carrying costs.
  • Drive supplier performance management, including quality, delivery, cost, certification compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives with key vendors.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Operations, Fabrication, Engineering, and Logistics to align demand forecasts, production schedules, and material availability with customer delivery commitments.
  • Collaborate with Finance to develop and manage Procurement budgets, cost forecasts, and inventory targets, ensuring alignment with EBITDA and cash flow goals.
  • Ensure Procurement and inventory processes support quality, regulatory, and certification requirements, particularly for safety-critical and engineered products.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor Procurement and inventory management teams, fostering a culture of accountability, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement. 
  • Leverage data, ERP systems, and analytics to monitor key performance indicators such as inventory turns, fill rates, supplier performance, cost savings, and service levels.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to supplier capacity, market volatility, geopolitical factors, and operational disruptions.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, and growth initiatives by scaling Procurement processes, supplier networks, and inventory strategies as the business evolves.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Deep knowledge of procurement and inventory planning best practices.
  • Strong understanding of steel markets, fabrication environments, and engineered-to-order products.
  • Strong strategic and financial acumen with a clear understanding of margin, EBITDA, and working capital drivers.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and inventory optimization tools.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management capabilities.
  • Advanced analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and leadership skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must have ability and willingness to travel 25% to meet business needs. International travel is required to strengthen supplier partnerships, perform on-site manufacturing and quality inspections, support quality and compliance audits, and attend industry trade shows.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, inventory management, or supply chain leadership.
  • 5+ years in a senior management or director-level role.
  • Proven experience managing complex inventories with long lead times, certifications, and project-based demand.
  • Experience in wholesale, industrial distribution, or related sectors preferred.
  • Required experience sourcing and managing suppliers internationally, including direct procurement experience in China, with a solid understanding of global trade, logistics, cultural considerations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Multi-site leadership experience required

Preferred Certifications

  • CSCP, CPIM, CPSM, or equivalent supply chain certification
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement training

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Combination of office, warehouse, and fabrication shop environments
  • Regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions
  • Travel to suppliers and company locations as required
  • Exposure to industrial environments and materials.
  • This job regularly requires verbal communication of detailed information to others either by phone or in person.
