Blakehurst is recruiting for a hospitality focused Plant Operations Supervisor to join our team! This position is responsible for performing a dual role in managing the Blakehurst security function and providing administrative support and customer service for the Plant Operations department.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Planning, scheduling, and supervising Security staff.
- Conducts routine patrols with officers.
- Assigns Security Staff to specific jobs, and spot checks work to ensure that workmanship meets standards and that safety and building standards are complied with.
- Provides on-the-job training for Security staff.
- Responsible to work various shifts including overnight and weekends when other security officers are not available.
- Recommends personnel actions including annual reviews, disciplinary actions, etc.
- Assists the Facilities Director with all administrative functions in the Plant Operations Department.
- Coordinates the daily management of the work order system in conjunction with the Maintenance Supervisor, including communication with residents and opening work orders.
- Supports the Renovations Coordinator in tracking and scheduling apartment renovations for existing resident apartments.
- Assists with purchasing, inventory, accounts payable, resident billing, shipping, and receiving.
- Assists with the scheduling and tracking of special projects.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate with ability to communicate effectively in English and perform simple arithmetic.
- Word processing, spreadsheet, database and desktop publishing knowledge and experience.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, be exact in performance and work well without direct supervision.
- Courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude toward the residents and staff.
