Description

Performs a variety of work assignments in Operations, Lab, Pre-Treatment, and Maintenance to ensure efficient Plant Operations. Position is designed to prepare an individual for promotional opportunities within the Wastewater Treatment Plant through diverse experiences in all facets of the Wastewater Plant.

Examples of Duties

  • Assists in a hands-on role with Plant operations and maintenance.
  • Assists Instrumentation Technician with routine work.
  • Provides backup assistance to Laboratory Technician, Industrial Waste Inspector, and Operators.
  • Administers the Fats, Oils and Grease Program
  • Works on special projects throughout the Plant operation including but not limited to; Plant data entry ,Plant safety program, calibration of plant and laboratory instruments, collection system flow monitoring and camera work, biosolids testing-reporting- monitoring, microscope examinations, grounds keeping, UV disinfection equipment maintenance.
  • Provide a high degree of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Other related duties as required.

Typical Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Valid OH Driver’s License
  • Satisfactory written and oral communication skills
  • Satisfactory computer literacy skills
  • Satisfactory mathematical, science, and mechanical skills
  • Completion of two-years post-high school education with either a degree or certificate of completion or equivalent experience in related field 
  • Reliable and predictable attendance
  • Ability to operate various pieces of equipment while standing and/or seated
  • Must have an Ohio EPA Class II Wastewater Operator’s Certificate and three (3) year's experience in wastewater treatment.
Preferred:
  • Same as above with:
    1. EPA Class III Certification
    2. Five years’ experience
    3. Excellent written and oral communication skills
    4. Excellent computer literacy skills
    5. Excellent mathematical, science, and mechanical skills

*related experience may be considered as a substitute requisite
