Job Overview
RectorSeal is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to support shipping and outbound distribution operations at our Earth City, MO facility. This role reports directly to the Shipping Manager and is responsible for overseeing day-to-day shipping execution, ensuring customer orders are fulfilled accurately, safely, and on time.
The Operations Supervisor plays a critical role in supervising shipping personnel, coordinating outbound workflows, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and company standards. While primarily focused on shipping, this position also provides flexible support across warehouse operations, including inventory control and receiving, to ensure seamless end-to-end fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee daily shipping and outbound distribution workflows, ensuring timely and accurate execution of operational plans in alignment with Shipping Manager priorities
• Monitor shipping performance metrics (on-time shipment, order accuracy, fill rate) and support actions to achieve KPI targets
• Supervise, coach, and develop shipping team members to ensure consistent execution, accountability, and performance improvement
• Ensure all shipments comply with applicable regulations and standards, including DOT, Hazmat, labeling, packaging, and invoicing requirements
• Maintain inventory accuracy at the point of shipment and ensure proper product staging, handling, and warehouse organization
• Identify and resolve shipping issues impacting customer satisfaction, including delays, shortages, or damages
• Partner with Customer Service, Planning, and Production teams to prioritize orders and manage exceptions
• Support implementation of safety initiatives and enforce adherence to company, OSHA, DOT, and powered industrial equipment requirements
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within shipping operations, including Lean, 5S, and process optimization initiatives
• Assist with labor planning and daily staffing assignments to meet shipping volume and service level demands
• Provide operational support across receiving, storage, and inventory functions as business needs require
Required Experience
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years in warehouse or distribution operations, with direct supervisory experience in shipping or outbound logistics
• Experience in high-volume shipping environments with multiple carriers and shipment types preferred
• Communication: Strong English verbal and written communication skills; bilingual Spanish preferred
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with WMS, ERP, or shipping systems strongly preferred

Work Environment
Office Environment: This role regularly operates in an office setting with occasional exposure to warehouse conditions requiring appropriate PPE. Duties include extended computer use, communication, and coordination activities. The environment includes moderate noise and typical workplace interruptions.
Warehouse Environment: The role frequently requires presence in a warehouse and shipping dock environment. Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing tasks such as climbing, stooping, kneeling, and reaching. Vision and mobility sufficient to safely perform operational duties are required.

You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position.
