Required immediately, our Saskatoon Stone Plant is seeking a Full Time Operations Manager
 
Our Stone Countertop manufacturing facility in Saskatoon is growing fast! As we continually invest in state-of-the-art equipment in the shop, we are also looking to strengthen our team who work around the clock producing high quality countertops.

Position Summary:
 
The Stone Plant Operations Manager is accountable for all operations at the Plant, providing leadership to achieve Company performance goals while living the core values of the organization. Builds a dynamic team culture through effective communication, coaching, training and development. Anticipates and overcomes challenges with resilience, adaptability and decisiveness to maintain safe and efficient operations.

 Duties And Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provides hands on leadership and determination to meet projected capacity, revenue and performance targets (AOP Budgets)
  • Manages all plant activities, developing effective systems to meet the needs of the customer and the company
  • Manages, coaches and develops staff, with a focus on building a strong team culture 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Maintains an active shop presence, with strong knowledge of all materials and processes
  • Analyze and documents business processes and problems; develops and implements efficient solutions
  • Reviews master production schedule; collaborates with admin teams to prioritize/revise as needed
  • Creates and manages Key Metrics for plant performance, communicating performance to all teams 
  • Proactively monitors plant performance, escalating and communicating to prevent/resolve issues quickly
  • Responds to and resolve escalated Branch issues/questions with urgency to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Maintains strong knowledge of leadership and industry best practices through continuous learning
  • Leads by example and acts as an advocate for safe work practices and the importance of PPE
  • Conducts departmental meetings to improve training and open team communication
  • Collaborates with plant/admin teams, ensuring material availability and effective inventory systems and reporting
  • Works with executive team to plan forecasts, budgets and capital expenditure projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years manufacturing experience in a leadership capacity 
  • Advanced computer skills, experienced with Microsoft Office, ability to learn other software as needed
  • Ability to plan, adapt and be decisive to solve problems, often in ambiguous situations
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to maintain calm, approachable demeanor with challenging situations/deadlines
  • Ability to coach, train and develop employees
  • Capable of mastering specialized equipment
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and perform accurate measurements
  • Able to lift 100lbs assisted occasionally
  • Regular lifting, bending and twisting
