Operations Manager - North America

We are looking for an Operations Manager to oversee and optimize Okane’s operations in North America, and who can deliver high-quality, efficient project outcomes while fostering a positive and productive environment. If you are passionate about developing teams, rigorous quality assurance and nurturing client relationships, this role could be for you.  This role is open to Okane’s Saskatoon or Calgary offices.  



Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence 

Monitor and manage performance metrics including health and safety, utilization, budget and financial targets and project on time / on budget delivery. This role must understand project profitability, labour multipliers and overall operational efficiency metrics and have this data inform decision making and improvements. This role will support and contribute billable work as . 



Regional Team Development & Execution  

Foster and develop Okane’s North America Operations team creating a positive work environment that reflects Okane’s culture and core values. This also includes supporting recruitment, training and performance management of the operations team The role will focus on implementation of operational strategies, ensure alignment with Okane’s corporate goals and objectives, and support growth initiatives in the sector



Quality Management Oversight 

Provide leadership and oversight to ensure robust quality control by implementing and monitoring processes so that all proposals and deliverables meet Okane’s quality standards and client expectations. Uphold Okane’s processes and procedures and maintain adherence to all relevant regulations and industry standards, including regional professional authentication and validation requirements for engineers and scientists.



Client Relationship Management 

Guide operations personnel in cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with clients, industry partners, and stakeholders to ensure Okane’s position as a trusted advisor in integrated mine planning and closure. Contribute operational expertise to proposal development and client presentations to support securing new work. 



Cross Region Collaboration 

Actively foster collaboration within Okane’s multi-disciplinary teams to ensure a cohesive operational approach globally. This collaboration is critical in upholding Okane’s reputation for excellence and ensuring a unified service delivery for clients across all locations. 



Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in senior-level operational management within the mining, resources, environmental, or engineering consulting sectors. 
  • A degree or diploma in engineering, geological, or environmental sciences. 
  • Proven track record of managing KPIs, project timelines and budgets, technical quality assurance.  
  • Experience in working cross-regionally in the sector is an asset.
