Job Summary:
Provides leadership and direction to the manufacturing team in a manner that ensures the operation meets or exceeds customer requirements as well as all quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Supervises staff to produce manufactured products, and organizes and monitors workflow.
- Ensure proper attendance of all staff, and discipline when necessary.
- Work with HR on performance management, disciplinary processes, and all other employee relations issues.
- Interview potential candidates including: evaluating, site tours, and making final decision on hiring.
- Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for overall shift operations in all value streams and supporting shift functions ensuring that customer requirements are exceeded, costs are controlled and quality/regulatory requirements are met.
- Improves processes by monitoring and upgrading processes, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures and systems and initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results on shift production summaries.
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing production standards.
- Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, and answering questions and responding to requests.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Partner with Director of Engineering, Director of Supply Chain, Director of Quality to ensure new product process and procedures are followed and product launch schedules are met.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education, Skills, and/or Experience Required:
- High School diploma/GED; Degree in relevant field will be an advantage
- 2-4 years’ relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience
- Organizational and leadership abilities
- Communication and interpersonal skills
