Description

We are currently looking for an Operations Department Supervisor in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, within our Kawneer business, a leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry. 

Our Operations Department Supervisors are essential to our plant’s success, driving operational performance by leading teams, ensuring safety and quality standards, meeting production goals, and directly impacting efficiency, employee engagement, and continuous improvement across the plant.
 
As an Operations Department Supervisor, you will directly lead and manage a team of eight Production Supervisors and indirectly lead 90-100 employees within the department, and lead the department to achieve all known goals in alignment with the plant business case (e.g. IFE, TRR, DART, Human Performance, OTIF, WCR, Operational Productivity, Labor efficiency, OEE, Inventory, Budget, etc.) by analyzing the departmental performance.  
 
To become successful, you must have strong communication, influencing and leadership skills to lead your team, drive operational continuous improvement, meet operational goals, and work collaboratively with plant leadership, other Operations Supervisors, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Drive continuous improvement the implementation lean initiatives and problem solving, Process Management and TPM to achieve departmental goals and continuously improve performance.
  • Responsible for problem analysis and implementing necessary actions/countermeasures to drive the success of the operation and improved process optimization.
  • Coach and train employees and supervisors (Including working on weekends and back shifts as required); Engage employees in department initiatives.
  • Plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures and recommend improvements in working conditions.
  • Responsible for performance management, including preparing and administering performance reviews and disciplinary action when appropriate.
  • Develop, implement and maintain SWI’s, standardized work for employees.
  • Ensure adherence to Labor Agreement, Work Rules and Standards.


Qualifications
You have: (required) 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of managerial and / or supervisory experience.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of managerial and / or supervisory experience of salaried employees in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with project management duties / responsibilities in relation to leading continuous improvement / lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Experience with Extrusion, Anodizing, Shipping, Material Handling, Paint and / or Fabrication.
  • Experience with data analytics / statistics in relation to making decisions for plant operations.
  • Experience with Quality Management of manufactured goods.
  • Experience creating and measuring key performance indicators (KPIs).
