Looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are looking for an Operations Coordinator to join our team!
What You Will Do
Reporting to the Manager, Procedures & Controls, you will lead and coordinate strategic initiatives that improve operational effectiveness, enhance asset management practices and drive innovation across the department. You will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating various multidisciplinary projects/programs, assignments, and new initiatives, and ensuring consistency with departmental goals and objectives.
You will identify opportunities to modernize processes, improve information management, leverage technology and optimize workflow to enhance efficiencies and service delivery. Working closely with management, technical teams and stakeholders, you will support the implementation of technology enabled solutions that strengthen decision-making, improve visibility of operational performance, and support organizational effectiveness. You will be responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of Departmental or Group processes and procedures, continuous improvement programs, and emergency preparedness/continuity of operations plans. You will have frequent involvement with various internal groups as well as public and political stakeholders.
As the Operations Coordinator, you will develop and maintain project and work prioritization frameworks to ensure alignment with strategic objectives, operational risk, asset condition and resource availability. You will continuously evaluate project priorities and business needs and analyze resource utilization and provide recommendations to optimize performance and support informed decision making.
You will support the effective use of enterprise systems, asset management platforms, digital collaboration tools and reporting solutions to improve planning, governance, documentation and operational coordination. You will facilitate collaboration between teams to advance shared objectives and promote a coordinated approach to project delivery, continuous improvement, and innovation.
You will provide independent analysis, recommendations and project leadership to support decision making, business process improvements initiative and organizational performance. Working with management and subject matter experts, you will identify risks, challenges and opportunities, evaluate impacts and support the implementation of sustainable solutions that improve efficiency and service reliability
You will be responsible for liaising with the Safety & Environment department and promoting safety consciousness and safe operating procedures. You will coordinate emergency preparedness exercises and simulations and lead incident reviews and debriefings with staff on serious incidents. You will track safety and operational action items.
In addition, you will develop business intelligence reports, performance dashboards, analytical studies and executive level presentation to support strategic planning, asset management, operational excellence and data-driven decision making.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?
- Your educational background will consist of the completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (i.e., Business Administration, Engineering, Technology Management) or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
- Completion of a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and completion of a recognized accounting designation, will be considered an asset.
- Experience supporting asset management, operational planning, business transformation, or process modernization initiatives.
- Experience using enterprise systems, asset management platforms, reporting tools and business intelligence solutions.
- Knowledge of digital technologies, workflow automation, information management and data governance practices.
- Strong understanding of research methods, analytical techniques, and performance measurement frameworks.
- Experience improving business processes through technology, automation and system enhancements.
- Your knowledge of transit operations, and experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects will be evident in your application.
- You will also have knowledge of emergency preparedness and continuity of operations planning.
- Your application will demonstrate experience leading projects independently and communicating project plans and results to stakeholders. You will have the ability to make evidence-based business decisions in a timely manner.
- You will have sound judgement, strong leadership, management and decision-making skills. Additionally, you will have well-developed technical, administrative, investigative, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Your superior verbal & written communication skills, and strong interpersonal, presentation and report-writing skills will also be beneficial to you in this role.
