HP is seeking an experienced North America Customs Specialist to support North America customs operations with a primary focus on the United States and Canada. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliant and efficient cross-border movement of goods while enabling HP’s global supply chain.

The position partners closely with internal stakeholders, customs brokers, logistics providers, and global trade teams to manage import and export compliance requirements, mitigate risk, and drive operational improvements. The ideal candidate combines strong regulatory knowledge with a proactive approach to problem solving, data analysis, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day North America import and export compliance activities, with primary focus on U.S. import regulations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customs brokers and logistics partners, ensuring operational alignment and compliance with HP policies and procedures
  • Monitor customs clearance activities and proactively identify potential compliance risks or operational issues
  • Lead broker performance management activities including KPIs, scorecards, and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)
  • Partner with supply chain, logistics, procurement, and legal teams to ensure trade compliance requirements are embedded into operational processes
  • Support classification, country of origin, customs valuation, and recordkeeping compliance requirements
  • Analyze trade data and reporting to identify trends, operational inefficiencies, and compliance risks
  • Lead or support initiatives focused on improving cross-border efficiency, reducing cost, and strengthening regulatory compliance
  • Monitor trade regulatory developments and communicate relevant changes to internal stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, policies, and internal guidance related to trade compliance
  • Support compliance assessments and risk reviews of external vendors, brokers, and logistics providers
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams and external partners on trade compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with global trade compliance teams to align regional processes with HP’s global trade strategy

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in customs compliance, brokerage, or international trade operations
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. import regulations and customs clearance processes
  • Experience working with customs brokers and cross-border logistics operations
  • Knowledge of tariff classification, country of origin, and customs valuation principles
  • Experience analyzing operational data and identifying process improvements
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • BA/BS in International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Canada import regulations
  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB), CCS, or other trade compliance certification
  • Experience working within technology or electronics supply chains
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems
  • Familiarity with supply chain security programs such as CTPAT or OEA
  • Experience with Duty Drawback programs
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and process improvement projects

Pay & Benefits

The pay range for this role is $65,600 to $101,000 USD annually, with additional opportunities for compensation through bonus and/or equity (applies to United States candidates only). Compensation is based on location, skills, and experience.
