The MRO Buyer plays an essential role in ensuring our facilities have the Maintenance, Repair, and Operating (MRO) materials and services needed to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. In this role, you help maintain uninterrupted manufacturing and healthcare service operations by securing critical parts and services on time, at a competitive cost, and in alignment with company standards.

Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Purchase MRO materials, components, and services, including spare parts, tools, consumables, facility supplies, and contractor services, in accordance with GEHC company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, production, and finance teams to understand MRO needs, forecast demand, and identify cost-saving or efficiency opportunities.
- Manage purchase orders from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Develop and maintain inventory control strategies for MRO items to minimize stockouts and optimize working capital.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, evaluating their performance based on quality, delivery, cost, and service.
- Resolve supplier issues such as quality discrepancies, delivery delays, and invoice disputes.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of MRO procurement processes, tools, and strategies.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in MRO purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles, preferably within a capital equipment-heavy manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for purchasing and inventory management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-complexity environment.
- Capability to walk, stand, and bend in warehouse environments and occasionally lift up to 25–50 lbs.
