About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized, analytical, and team-oriented professional with excellent relationship management skills to join our School Breakfast Program team. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Monitoring and Logistics Coordinator supports the effective and consistent delivery of the School Breakfast Program through a combination of program monitoring, food and logistics coordination, equipment coordination, and stakeholder engagement. This role plays a key part in ensuring the program operates efficiently, meets accountability requirements, and supports participating schools through strong operational systems, processes, and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Support program monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and data quality activities.
- Maintain program data and generate reports to support planning, accountability, and decision-making.
- Analyze program data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Support the coordination of food procurement, logistics, reporting, and operational processes.
- Liaise with suppliers, service providers, and internal staff to support ordering, delivery, and issue resolutions.
- Maintain documentation, tracking tools, and resources related to food, logistics, and equipment.
- Support compliance with food safety requirements, program guidelines, and operational procedures.
- Support operational communications and collaboration with schools, suppliers, funders, and community partners.
- Conduct research and gather information to support food procurement planning, sourcing decisions, and local and sustainable food initiatives.
- Support training, special projects, and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
- Serve as a representative and advocate for ONFE and its programs.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365, Excel, databases, and reporting tools.
- Demonstrated organization and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of food safety practices, food procurement, nutrition guidelines, or school food programs is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of the Ottawa education system and ancillary services is an asset.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Public Health, Nutrition, Social Sciences, Program Evaluation, Data Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in program coordination, operations, logistics, reporting, administration, or related fields.
- Experience supporting program monitoring, evaluation, reporting, or data quality processes.
- Experience working with data systems, dashboards, spreadsheets, or reporting tools.
- Satisfactory Police Record Check in alignment with ONFE's Conditions of Employment Policy.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable motor vehicle with insurance coverage permitting work-related travel.
- Fluency in English and French (oral and written) is considered a strong asset.
