Material Planner / Buyer - Food Manufacturing

 

Monday to Friday - 7.30am to 4.00pm

 

Summary

 

This role involves a high degree of internal interaction and collaboration with Scheduling, Customer Service, Production, Quality and Engineering teams as well as external interaction with suppliers and potential suppliers. 

 

Reports to the Supply Chain Manager

 

The successful candidate is a highly motivated, self-directed individual capable of multi-tasking with a high level of personal and professional ethics.

 

 Description

 

  • Prepare, issue and monitor purchase orders to ensure production requirements are met using ERP/MRP environment
  • Establish, monitor and manage relationships with key suppliers and internal functions
  • Anticipate and communicate demand schedules to suppliers, escalate risks with vendors and internal teams and propose solutions and/or corrective actions
  • Identify cost savings opportunities
  • Manage the RMA process
  • Escalates any issues that impact production
  • Minimize inventory levels while maintaining customer service levels
  • Approve Freight invoices and Resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Perform other duties/projects/reports as required

Essential Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management (minimum 3-year program)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in purchasing, forecasting and inventory planning
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Detailed working knowledge of ERP/MRP
  • Strong Microsoft office skills (Excel, Word, PPT, etc.)
  • Well-developed Communication (both written and verbal)
  • Solid Analytical skills
  • High level of planning, organizational and Implementation skills
  • Self-Motivated team player
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Extremely organized and resourceful individual capable of multi-tasking
  • Ability to stay calm in stressful situations
