Description

We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Shop Operations Team Manager to join our team, 3rd shift (11pm - 7am), specializing in manufacturing for our Cummins’ business in Bloomfield, CT. 

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: 

Lead daily production activities to consistently meet or exceed safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets while maintaining a well-organized, disciplined work environment. 

Build a safe and engaged shop floor by reinforcing housekeeping standards, promoting hazard awareness, and partnering with cross‑functional teams on continuous safety improvements. 

Drive operational efficiency by identifying opportunities to improve workflows, reduce waste, and optimize labor and equipment utilization. 

Serve as a group lead on projects and work assignments, coordinating priorities and ensuring timely, effective execution.

Set clear expectations and clarify roles and responsibilities so team members understand how their work contributes to production goals.

Coach and mentor team members to strengthen skills, improve performance, and support individual development and engagement. 

Provide ongoing, constructive feedback to reinforce accountability, recognize strong performance, and address gaps promptly. 

Foster strong cross‑functional collaboration to support improvements in quality, productivity, and overall operational effectiveness.

Drive operational excellence through continuous process improvement, disciplined execution, and effective investigation of HSE incidents to prevent recurrence and improve quality and efficiency.



Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • College, university or equivalent degree required, or equivalent experience required. 
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. 
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Additional Details:

  • Union experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of lean principles.
