DescriptionManager, Project Procurement - Infrastructure Solutions
The Manager, Project Procurement will lead procurement efforts associated with Infrastructure Solutions projects. Manage larger Infrastructure Solutions Project Purchasing and Procurement activities. Help develop and manage a strategic supplier base of Preferred and Approved suppliers for assigned commodities within Integrated Module Solutions division. Responsible for all Project Procurement activity, including coordinating with Solution Architects, Presales, Product Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality, Program Management, Sourcing Leads, Buyers, Materials Manager, Commodity Managers for standard product, managing certain direct supplier relationships (exclusive to IS), and sourcing of indirect spend as needed. Principle area of responsibility is Americas, with frequent coordination with other Vertiv regions worldwide. Scope includes NPDI responsibilities, supplier development, sourcing, project management, and purchase of assigned commodities for America’s I.S. business demand requirements in coordination with Americas Commodity teams and SIOP teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Presales support with 3rd party supplier quoted cost and lead times.
- New Product Development and Introduction
- Lead and be responsible for RFI, RFQ, Contract management for all Procurement site activities and related Bill of material involvement, from Bid to Supplier award to product and services delivery. (End to End)
- Deliver cost savings per plan, using Zycus iSave for standard solutions, and initial Bid vs. final quote for custom products.
- Utilize Vertiv's applications tool such as Zycus iSource for competitive bidding on key items, systems, and equipment required for integrated modules and thermal products.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Purchasing to ensure that sourcing strategies are being followed to deliver cost savings and operational efficiencies in support of company plans and (EBITDA) goals.
- Leading Team to ensure Infrastructure Solutions Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing groups are tactically executing strategic commodity / supply chain strategies and that issues impacting success are properly resolved and communicated.
- Ensure procurement plans are in sync with the I.S. Sales, Inventory and Operations Plan (SIOP) and production/project schedules to meet on time delivery goals and prevent parts shortages.
- Investigate and follow up on major adjustments to I.S. schedule to understand reasons and to ensure all functional teams are working under the same assumptions.
- Responsible for ensuring key attributes of the supply chain are properly maintained such as costs, lead times, and capacity. Additionally, ensure Supplier Performance comply with agreements created by Global and Regional Commodity Managers (CM’s).
- Ensure optimal Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ’s) are in effect for all key parts to minimize cost structure, inventory carrying cost, and premium transportation charges.
- Confer with Procurement and Operational Purchasing in investigating root causes of parts shortages and work with both functions to develop process that prevent future problems.
- Work with Procurement, Operational Purchasing, and the Manila Service Center to develop and maintain proper Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and reporting to ensure efforts are aligned (e.g. purchase order performance).
- Working with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), develop and managing Purchase Price Variance (PPV) forecasts and report regularly on status.
- Maintain awareness of component markets and materials pricing trends to ensure Procurement and Operational Purchasing are making timely supplier or component changes.
- Monitor and report on the execution and results of implemented supply chain solutions (e.g. vendor managed inventory (VMI), supplier consignment, etc.).
- Maintain Preferred Supplier List supporting Infrastructure Solutions (3rd Party/Buyout) and standard configured product solutions and projects.
- Establish a regional supplier network for key commodities and services to deliver at lower total cost of ownership.
- Lead and manage direct reports, providing oversight and guidance in a collaborative manner to project teams, and constructive feedback as appropriate.
- Build collaborative working relationships with staff and key stakeholders in all functional areas (e.g. Procurement, Operational Purchasing, Quality, Operations, Sales/Offering Management, and Engineering).
- Ensure that Vertiv standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with the procurement and delivery of all parts.
- Foster a continuous improvement culture consistent with VOS training and guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of supply chain experience in and OEM environment with Procurement, Purchasing, Project Management, or Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain Development, New Product Development, Project Management.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- BA or BS undergraduate degree in business, engineering, project management, or finance.
- PM, CPM, or CPIM Professional; Certification is a bonus.
