Description

Reporting to the Practice Administrator, the Practice Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the practice with an emphasis on managing staff, responding to physician, patient and staff concerns, and budget management. Additionally, this position focuses on customer service and continuous improvement of operations.  Works effectively with patients to resolve customer service issues, and with Revenue Cycle to ensure maximization of collections. Develops and implements common priorities and goals related to providing optimal customer service, maximizing operational efficiency, and assuring financial viability and rendering high quality health care services.  The Practice Manager must demonstrate, through leadership example, visible organizational support and a positive attitude to create a positive work environment,



Qualifications

Education:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience. 

 

Knowledge:  Strong computer skills, working knowledge of EMR, medical terminology and insurance. Knowledge of HR processes including hiring, discipline and performance evaluation.  Understanding of patient satisfaction reporting systems.  Aptitude for financial and budgeting systems.

 

Skills:  Possesses a professional manner and has strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary to handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact and diplomacy.   Ability to interact with diverse groups of people both within and outside the corporation. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.  Effective organizational and time management skills necessary to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.

 

Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.:  If a Practice Manager also has clinical nurse responsibilities, the following education, training, licensing and certification requirements apply: 

1. R.N. training and a degree from an approved school of nursing.  2. Current New Jersey State Licensure is required.  3. Current CPR certification or ability to successfully complete CPR certification.  4. Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the ages of the patients served in the department.

 

Work Experience: 

Practice Manager I:  Two years of healthcare experience preferred.
