POSITION SUMMARY

The People Operations Manager is responsible for leading day-to-day operations to ensure exceptional employee experience across the organization. This role oversees people processes including employee engagement programming, payroll, benefits administration, HR compliance, employee lifecycle operations and HRIS systems. The People Operations Manager provides leadership to the People Operations team and partners closely with managers and employees company-wide to build a positive, high-performance culture.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead, mentor and develop the People Operations team.
  • Support the Employee Engagement Specialist in design, implementation and evaluation of engagement and recognition programs and internal communication.
  • Monitor engagement metrics and present insights and recommendations to the Director - People and Culture.
  • Maintains HR scorecards and monthly metrics for reporting.
  • Partner with People and Culture leadership on strategic HR initiatives, workforce planning and people analytics
  • Coordinates the performance management system for Sunrise Banks. Including creation and distribution of reviews, communication, education and coaching on performance management.
  • Provide coaching to managers on employee relations, performance processes and best practice people management.
  • Oversee payroll administration. Ensure payroll accuracy, timely processing and adherence to regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Support annual open enrollment, benefits renewals, plan audits and compliance reporting.
  • Develop annual merit and salary plans in UKG.
  • Manage relationships with benefit brokers, vendors, and payroll providers
  • Own the employee life cycle from onboarding through offboarding.
  • Assist the Director – People and Culture in responses to internal audits of HR functions and responsibilities
  • Complete compensation and other HR Surveys.
  • Act as payroll processing back-up
  • Conduct Manager Training (LMA), as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position supervises the HR Specialist – Employee Engagement, HR Specialist – Payroll & Benefits.

Responsible for the hiring, performance management, and development of these employees.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school degree or GED required.
  • College degree in HR or business-related field preferred.
  • Combination of education listed above and/or 3-5 years’ experience.
  • Superior managerial skills and ability to interact within all levels of the bank required.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with AI tools and maintains an open, curious approach to emerging technologies.
  • Strong skill set in the use of the following software applications: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Teams and Outlook
  • 2 years of HR management experience
  • Strong skill set in HRIS and payroll software(s). UKG Pro experience preferred.
  • HR Certification beneficial.

Annual salary DOQ: $91,931 - $131,331 - $170,730
