Description

SUMMARY

Manage the legal department support staff and operations of the department, including workflow processes, and all associated technology, and management of departmental vendor relationships. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Plans, directs, manages and evaluates the day-to-day operations and production of OGC 
  2. Facilitate departmental software needs, system changes and training, including matter management software, panel counsel billing system, among others
  3. Oversee handling of all incoming mail for litigated matters
  4. Responsible for oversight of all electronic and other court filings and service of documents as needed in various jurisdictional filings.
  5. Oversee handling of all incoming mail for litigated claims across multiple brands.
  6. Reporting and report preparation
  7. Manage, draft and maintain claim litigation workflows and processes, including various electronic filing interfaces
  8. Employ excellent verbal and written communication to develop and maintain strong working 
  9. relationships with internal (other units within enterprise) and external customers (law firms, 
  10. agencies)
  11. Develop and implement procedures and measurements to ensure customer service levels are met.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  1. 5 years of experience
  2. 1 year of leadership experience
  3. Bachelors degree
  4. PMP Certification preferred, not required.

    Knowledge of other functional areas; understand impact on Litigation functions
  8. Ability to effectively present budgetary and/or cost information and respond to questions as appropriate.
  9. Ability to establish workflow, manages multiple projects and meet necessary deadlines.
  10. Ability to perform other assignments at locations outside the office.
  11. Familiar with laws, regulations, and compliance requirements related to insurance, as necessary 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises a varied number of employees in the designated department(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

PAY RANGE:


Actual compensation decision relies on the consideration of internal equity, candidate’s skills and professional experience, geographic location, market, and other potential factors. It is not the standard practice for an offer to be at or near the top of the range, and therefore a reasonable estimate for this role is between $94,500 and $158,350.
