Job summary:
Lab Operations Manager - Healthcare Reprocessing
At Nelson Labs, our Healthcare Reprocessing team plays a vital role in validating cleaning and sterilization processes that help ensure reusable medical devices are safe for patients worldwide.
We’re looking for a hands-on people leader ready to step into a meaningful management role within a regulated laboratory environment. This position is ideal for a developing operations leader who enjoys coaching teams, improving processes, and driving day-to-day execution.
This role reports to a Senior Lab Operations Manager and supports departmental strategy.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and support a team of laboratory professionals.
- Conduct regular 1:1 meetings and performance discussions.
- Partner with HR and senior leadership to support engagement and development.
- Help build bench strength and technical capability within the department.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable team culture.
Operational Execution
- Oversee daily workflow and scheduling to ensure timely test completion.
- Monitor key production and quality metrics.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency.
- Support resource planning and supply coordination.
- Escalate operational or client concerns appropriately and help drive resolution.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to GMP, GLP, ISO, and internal quality standards.
- Support audit readiness and documentation accuracy.
- Partner with Quality Assurance to resolve deviations and improve processes.
- Champion safe laboratory practices.

Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.

- Laboratory science education, experience, or relevant certifications strongly preferred.
- Business or management coursework, training, or practical experience is a plus.
