Summary

The Assistant Manager, Supply Chain Transformation will manage a team of individuals that will maintain and support various computer-based systems and processes that enhance the effectiveness of personnel, facilitate the performance and tracking of supply chain activities, and enable data analysis and strategy development. This manager will also be responsible for the integration, reporting, and data analytics of new supply chain processes and solutions, as well as ensuring they are governed and sustained.   

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage resources responsible for conceptualizing, developing, implementing and analyzing new supply chain solutions
  • Aide in the efforts of Oncor’s Information Technology Group in the development, maintenance and implementation of various computer-based Supply Chain systems, processes and interfaces.
  • Develop communication and reporting strategy to ensure that key stakeholders are kept informed.
  • Interface effectively with various individuals throughout the Supply Chain, Asset Management, Transmission, Distribution, Accounting, Technology and contractor. organizations in support of required data analysis, program planning, and strategy development.
  • Stay abreast of industry and business changes; plan and implement policies and procedures to support industry changes and new technologies.
  • Coordinate activities with Information Technology (IT) System testing, vendors, process owner, and other IT support areas to maximize the effective of testing.
  • Oversee technical support of supply chain applications and systems.
  • Provide technical assistance, root cause analysis, and recommendations to the Supply Chain organization and internal Oncor customers.
  • Support and maintain accurate and accessible systems to facilitate efficient supply chain activities, ensuring productive use of systems and controlling of system data.
  • Ensure supply chain activities support Oncor’s Construction, Emergency Restoration, and Program work.
  • Develop content and facilitate plans for training Oncor personnel inside and outside of the Supply Chain organization on the use of technological systems and processes, including developing and leading workshops.
  • Support strategic and continuous improvement initiatives in Supply Chain, and throughout Oncor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned when required.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
  • Applicants with a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree  with a focus in supply chain or logistics are encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of direct experience is required.
  • Applicants with utility industry experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of company systems, the associated data, and reporting software.
  • Knowledge of related existing and evolving supply chain processes and practices. Understanding of cross-functional interactions and ability to visualize diverse impacts of system changes within the company.

  • Successful support of Supply Chain organization’s technological needs.
  • Development of additional Supply Chain System subject matter experts.
  • Development of successful training programs and processes.
  • Development of dashboards, reporting and analytics experts.
  • Active participation in the continuous improvement of supply chain functions through the use of existing and new computer software, systems and technology.
